I was sitting at a seaside patio having a couple beers with some friends a few months ago when one of them asked what were our favorite numbers. Most piped in with lucky numbers and magic numbers. I said that I had an affinity with the numbers 1:11 and 11:11 on clocks, that I had been noticing these numbers often and got a kind of weird and strong feeling from them. The person that had posed the question in the first place said that she had the same thing going on and that she had heard it is a call to awakening or for light workers to awaken...I don't go for the newage stuff and I hesitate to even bring this up with you guys but I Googled this number 11:11 and found that there's a whole movement of people around this. You see, this strange and strong reaction I experience from this number has been going on for about six or seven years and I had never heard of any significance until now so it's not the power of suggestion.
I always secretly thought that it meant that I would die at this time or that some thing or some things momentous would occur around the times 1:11 or 11:11. I have found from one of the Goolgled sites that the time for the 2012 supposed event Is 11:11.

Anyone ever hear of this and/or have any ideas or opinions?

Arrrgh! It just happened again, as soon as I was done here I went to another page and the first thing that jumped from the new page to my eyes was the 1:11 which stood for the time on a video clip of Krishna Das.

I swear to God guys, I went to the zaadz thing and the first post I looked at was posted by someone named Masha and it was posted at...you guessed it 1:11. It did not take any more that ten seconds for it to manifest just like the time before...

The woo woo factor is very strong this morning. I will stop posting about this now lest I get caught up in some weird time warp thingy.

The same thought went through my mind too Jim but still there's a nasty hitch in my consciousness around that experience.
I can't deny my own feelings around that thing and the synchronicity is out of this world. None of this is rational and I expect that it is not where this thing resides.

Remember only 1% of our consciousness is conscious....that means there is alot going on we never know about. The larger mind likes to remind us of its presence and so it feeds us precognitive and psychic titbits occasionally. Like my ability to turn my sterio/radio/CD player on at 3.03 in the morning while I am sleeping during particularly rarified holy energy states of kundalini. It happened twice recently...but mostly in 2000; perhaps 10 times altogether. I think it only happens in summer, so there is no miscalcuation with daylight saving time.

Just so there is no mistake, I wouldn't know a light worker if one bit me in the butt!

I tend to see newage as just another kind of religion trying to birth itself albeit a simple one for simpletons or at the very least the gullible. But still I can't deny this feeling that is like intuition or an unspecified premonition I often get when surprised by the appearance of these numbers.

To use an analogy I would say that it is like waking with your eyes fixed on the alarm at 5:29am when you are supposed to be up at 5:30am. Like you knew the time all along while sleeping, somehow your internal clock knows. That is what it feels like when it happens, a momentary blank and then a recognition of something somewhat mysterious.

Whatever, I'm happy enough to be in the dark about this along with the billion other things I am in the dark about.

Interesting stuff Denis!  Never heard of this before.  Not the 11:11 bit anyway.  I'm very familiar with the rest of the newage paraphernalia of course...

I was considering posting this at exactly 1:11, but that would be cheating now wouldn't it?

Michael, thanks for the link and I must reluctantly say that a lot of that stuff resonates. However, I will be damned if you will ever catch me in a white robe prancing around a field opening portals and stargates willy-nilly like that!

Jana, I whole heartedly agree with you on the 1% thing. In fact that is one of my guiding lights in my day to day inner dialogue. It is a bit of an art to hold this and keep from being a nihalist, for me that is. I tend to want to use this belief as refuge from having to solve "peskyness" in my life at times. I am a big picture kinda guy and will use any excuse to make the details and unpleasantnesses insignificant.

 Well, whooowhoo.

 It is kind of strange that I happened to check in here today and find my name mentioned in connection with the number 11. Stranger still, ever since I was a child, my favorite number has been 11. Mind you, I don't resonate with numbers, can't add or subtract without a calculator, and have to force myself to tackle any kind of bookkeeping. But eleven always meant something.... I don't know what, something wonderful and mysterious. Maybe it's the sound of the German word elf ,which means 11, and Elfen means elves - and what little girl doesn't like those?

Anyway, weird to have this number pop up. Never understood this 11:11 hoohah of New Age provenance at all, until I read this thread. Still have to click on the link. See what happens.

sidenote:  in the movie Confidence with ed burns, there's a moment where he and rachal weizz look at a clock and it's 11:11 and they briefly talk about the synchronicity.
