Yes, we need to come up with cheap highly effective water filter systems too, that we can rig up ourselves...Schauberger vortexes are probably the best...he said something about amber purifying water also...think I will get a lump of the solid stuff.
Since the evil global empire is going to boot up the nukepower industry...we should start thinkng in terms of deep spring ground water...

Yea Denis the planetary/cosmic energy affect the water in our bodies, affect our alchemy and our drinking water...everything...I have some zeolite mixed in with fulvic acid and NZ Eternal water...which I used to spike my drinking water...this bottle is doing strange things this full moon...the precipitate has more levity in the watery medium...and crystaline star formations of zeolite particles and threads formed in the bottle. Will continue to watch for other changes with various moon phases.

The planetary forces and solar output, and all manner of radiation from space would also affect the biogenic capacity, structure and function of water...affecting our biology directly and through changes in our body's water matrix and the biology of our food. I have mused that if humans start eating monatomic ORMUS elements, water and food, that we might start growing supersize from 7 to 20 feet again in many generations…except environmental conditions would not support gigantism.

I have been looking into giant humans in our history in order to get a grips on how past orgone/ormus environments might have changed our human form. It appears that indeed there were many races of human giants all over the earth prior to the end of the last iceage...one of the main causes of their demise is the loss of ozone, which increases space radiation reducing the length of lifespan.
Check out the giants of India and other giant videos on youtube...there is a small amount. Here is a good list of findings:
www.returnofthenephilim.com/GiantBonesDiscoveries.html

Bearden talks about the curvature of spacetime at the atomic level as it relates to chemistry and physics...and this is perhaps what we are seeing with monatomics...they change their relation to zeropoint and they spin differently...which corresponds to changes in the bending of spacetime and gravity. It would be good if Nassim Haramein was bought into the ORMUS community...for his ideas on spin/gravity and the GUT he is proposing needs to be run through the monatomic lens...if he doesn't know about exotic matter he really needs to in order to expand his theory, and help us understand this freaky field better. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekGJC5HFDlE

Timeline for Irreversible Climate Change
By James Hansen
YaleGlobal Online

Wednesday 23 April 2008

Fifty years ago, Yankee Stadium had about 70,000 seats. It seldom sold out, and almost any kid could afford the cheapest seats. Capacity was reduced to about 57,000 when the stadium was remodeled in the 1970s. Most games sell out now, and prices have gone up.

The new stadium, opening next year, will reduce seating to about 51,800. This intentional contraction is aimed at guaranteeing sellouts, increasing demand, allowing the owners, in short order, to triple prices or more. The owners have learned that scarcity will fatten their wallets. The plan may discriminate against the lower middle class, but as long as the owner is footing the bill without public subsidies, there may be little grounds for complaint.

Now fossil-fuel moguls are intent on hoodwinking the entire planet with an analogous scheme.

The basic trick is oil producers overstating fossil-fuel reserves. Government "energy information" departments parrot industry. Partly because of disinformation, the major efforts needed to develop alternative energies have not been made.

The reality of limited supply forces prices higher. Eventually, sales volume will begin to decline, but fossil-fuel moguls will make more money than ever. They'll continue to assert that there's plenty more oil, gas or coal to be found, aiming to keep the suckers on the hook. Indeed, they may find somewhat more in the deep ocean, under national parks, in polar regions, offshore, and in other environmentally sensitive areas. They don't need much to keep the suckers paying higher and higher prices.

Oil "reserves" suddenly doubled when Organization for the Petroleum Exporting Countries decided that production quotas would be proportional to official reserves. These higher reserves are, at least in part, phantom. Coal "reserves" are based on estimates made many decades ago. Closer study shows that extractable coal reserves are vastly overstated, consistent with present production difficulties and rising prices. The presumed 200-year supply of coal in the United States is a myth, but it serves industry moguls well.

Conventional fossil-fuel supplies are limited, even if we tear up the Earth to extract every last drop of oil and shard of coal. Tearing up the Earth to get at those last drops - Exxon/Mobil proudly advertises that they're drilling the depths of the ocean and searching the most extreme pristine environments - is as insane as the smoker who trudged 4 miles through a raging storm to buy a pack of Camel cigarettes to feed his nicotine addiction.

It would be possible to find more fossil fuels, and extend our addiction and pollution of the environment, should we be so foolish as to take the path of extracting unconventional fossil fuels such as tar shale and tar sands on a large scale. That choice cannot be left to the discretion of industry moguls. The planet does not belong to them.

Basic facts on reserves must be combined with basic climate facts described in the paper "Target Atmospheric CO2: Where Should Humanity Aim?"

Our conclusion is that, if humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to the one on which civilization developed and to which life on Earth is adapted, CO2 must be reduced from its present 385 ppm (parts per million) to, at most, 350 ppm. We find that peak CO2 can be kept to about 425 ppm, with large estimates for oil and gas reserves, if coal use is phased out by 2030 (except where CO2 is captured and sequestered) and unconventional fossil fuels are not tapped substantially. Peak CO2 can be kept close to 400 ppm, if actual reserves are closer to those estimated by "peakists," who believe that the globe is already at peak global oil production, having extracted about half of readily extractable oil resources.

This lower 400 ppm peak can be ensured, assuming phase-out of coal emissions by 2030, if a practical limit on reserves is achieved by means of actions that prevent fossil-fuel extraction from public lands, off-shore regions under government control, environmentally pristine regions and extreme environments. The concerned public can influence this matter, but time is short, the industry voice is strong and climate effects have not yet become so obvious to the public as to overwhelm the disinformation from industry moguls.

A near-term moratorium on coal-fired power plants and constraints on oil extraction in extreme environments are essential, because once CO2 is emitted to the air much of it will remain there for centuries. Improved agricultural and forestry practices, mostly reforestation, could draw down atmospheric CO2 about 50 ppm by the end of the century. But a greater drawdown by such more-or-less natural methods seems impractical, making a long-term overshoot of the 350 ppm target level, with potentially disastrous consequences, a near certainty if the world stays on its business-as-usual course.

If we choose a different path, which permits the possibility of achieving 350 ppm CO2 or lower this century, we can minimize the chance of passing tipping points that spiral out of control, such as disintegration of ice sheets, rapid sea level rise and extermination of countless species. At the same time, we could solve problems that seem intractable, such as acidification of the ocean with consequent loss of coral reefs.

In any event, we must move beyond fossil fuels soon, because a large fraction of CO2 emissions will linger in the atmosphere for many centuries.

The world must move to zero fossil-fuel emissions. This is a fact, a certainty. So why not do it sooner, in time to avert climate crises? At the same time, we halt other pollution that comes from fossil fuels, including mercury pollution, conventional air pollution, problems stemming from mountain-top removal and more.

Breaking an addiction is not easy. But we may be like the smoker who trudged four miles through rain to get a pack of Camels - when he got back to his motel he threw the pack away and never smoked again.

Fossil-fuel addiction is more difficult - one person's epiphany cannot solve the problem. This problem requires global cooperation. We must be on a new path within the next several years, or reducing CO2 levels this century becomes implausible. Developed countries, the source of most excess CO2 in the air today, must lead in developing clean energy and halting emissions. Yet it is hardly a sacrifice: "Green" jobs will be an economic stimulus and a boon to worker well-being.

Obviously Schaubergers water tornado...is the ultimate water machine...only he really gets water. I am reading Fertile Earth by Schauberger...and go into intellectual ecstasy reading it...this must surely be his most profound book...I think it is the most important book to the survival of humanity and the creation of a spiritual civilization...to start you could read Hidden Nature or Living Water...check out all Viktor Schauberger videos on youtube, and Callum Coats his student. www.linux-host.org/energy/svictor.htm ...a page down see the tornado plans.

Just been watching John Hogue on youtube about his prophecy for Iran....boy, do you think they are going to do it? Nuke Iran I mean? John Hogue must surely be one of the most amazing creatures on the planet.

Yep, going down first  in a constructive down-cycle was an obvious idea that came to me, having been "forced" into a series of dieoff type events....you really get to see how badly the bodymind just wants to collapse. Perhaps we are going through a collective darknight of the soul event...self premeditated.

Riding the Apocalypse can be fun!
What to do in a time of deconstruction? The function of die-offs both individual and collective is...prioritization...through elimination of the unnecessary. Thus we can more clearly see the Necessity and fall into Kairos (synchronicity). The most important things to do right now is to plant trees, plant food and teach the children. If you distract yourself from these tasks, then you are spiritually lost.
Religion is the spirituality of the ego...we are seeing the last vestigages of that old mind...and are yet to find out if religion will finish off humanity all together. This moral crisis will hopefully speed our personal path toward finding out our part in the transformation of the globe to world citizenry.

There is a solar max in 2010 and a twin max in 2012.
Hogue says Hillary is getting in...if so, it will be another rigged election. I can't imagine Hillary at the lead with a war on Iran. Perhaps they will indeed cancel the next election...the only way to stop this thing is a few appropriate assassinations of key power figures. We can see that the game is one of genocide for land and resources...but why don't they just go build their own land somewhere...put that energy into building not fighting. It is a sickness...fueled by religious madness. Or using religion as an excuse for radical psychosis.

Hey the FEMA exercises May 1-8 could be training for civil disobediance if they are going ahead with an attack on Iran.

sounds rather ominous.  if they're looking for, as some believe, an incident to trigger a crackdown and martial law, there are plenty of things happening out there.

UPDATE - YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA

PRESS RELEASE
Selma, AL – Wagner, SD – Bull Conner Lives On!

Sheriff Ray Westindorf, Sheriff of Charles Mix County in South Dakota and the SD Highway Patrol has initiated a police occupation of Indian Land on the Yankton Reservation. An out of state Hog Farm Corporation has set up shop on the Reservation against the wishes of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, local farmers and community members. The Hog Farm is surrounded by Reservation land and the only access road is under the jurisdiction of the US Bureau of Indian Affairs.

On April 15th Yankton Sioux Tribal Members began a peaceful protest against the Hog Farm and were met immediately with illegal law enforcement presence and arrest. To date twenty-two people have been arrested on trumped up charges and there has been a total over reaction of law enforcement numbering up to 52 SD Highway Patrol Cars with 22 more Highway Patrol cars waiting in reserve. Some patrol cars from as far away as the state of Iowa. The Highway Patrol has set up snipers with rifles on top of two command posts they have established near the scene. The State of South Dakota has absolutely no jurisdiction on Indian land and the highway leading to the Hog Farm is Indian Land where Tribal members and others have been arrested while peacefully protesting. This amount of law enforcement presence is unprecedented for a peaceful protest and violates the legal Jurisdiction of the Yankton Sioux Tribe.

Sheriff Westindorf is carrying on the Spirit of Bull Conner in Selma, Alabama during the Civil Rights era of the nineteen sixties. The Sheriff's son was awarded the electrical contract for the building of the Hog Farm. Is law enforcement now being used to protect out of state corporate interests and family members of the Sheriff in the State of South Dakota? Corporate Hog Farms have been outlawed in many states in the US. How many Highway Patrol cars have been dispatched to White Peoples' protests in South Dakota? Racism is alive and well in South Dakota! The Peace and Justice Center has been notified and has dispatched observers to the scene with Catholic Nuns vowing to protest and be arrested if necessary to bring attention to the violation of Human Rights of the Yankton Sioux Tribal Members.

The way to get rid of hog farms is to create a computerized image of thousands of naked human babies smothered in shit, sitting in hog farm stalls, balling their eyes out. blush

MAYDAY ALERT! -- Terror Drills Could Go Live!

 By Dr. James H. Fetzer
 Major William B. Fox
 Captain Eric H. May
 SFC Donald Buswell

Issuing an alert -- as we are doing now -- is not an instance of "crying wolf," as Bush administration
apologists often assert.  As military-trained experts, we are convinced that the US 9/11 and UK 7/7 attacks
were set up under the camouflage of terror drills.  The existence of a wolf is not in question.  The wolf
of false flag terror has killed our fellow citizens and frightened our country into needless wars.
It's our mission of conscience to keep it from striking again.

The name "false flag" comes from the old pirate's ruse
of flying another country's flag during an attack,
thereby shifting blame for the attack to a party that
had nothing to do with it.  Governments use false flag
attacks to push their nations into dictatorship or
war.  As military experts, we fear that national
terror drills, scheduled for May 1-8, could be used to
camouflage a false flag attack in the United States.

  Strategic Signals

Yesterday an American-flagged ship fired on the
Iranian Navy, and now Pentagon sources say that they
have been ordered to prepare attack plans.  Admiral
"Fox" Fallon, the Centcom commander who opposed war
with Iran, has been ousted in favor of Bush loyalist
General David Petraeus, who has spent the last month
accusing Iran for our increasing problems with the
 Iraqi resistance.

Saudi Arabia has been preparing for nuclear fallout
from an attack on Iran since last month, when Dick
Cheney paid a visit.  Israel has just finished its
largest-ever domestic war drills.  Israel and the Bush
administration are insisting that Syria and North
Korea are nuclear collaborators.  Syria is preparing
for the contingency of an Israeli attack.  Iran is
preparing for the contingency of a US attack.  US
government insiders speculate that Bush has promised
Israel an expanded Middle East war before he leaves
 office.

The Neo-Cons are pounding their war drums again,
according to Dr. James H. Fetzer, the founder of
Scholars for 9/11 Truth, and he believes that nothing
would help them spread their imperial war in the
Middle East as much as another 9/11.

He has just published "9/11 and the Neo-Con Agenda."
  http://www.amfirstbooks.com/IntroPages/ToolBarTopics/Articles/Other_Topics/9-11_Anomalies/Dr._James_H._Fetzer_2008-04-22_9-11_and_the_Neo-Con_Agenda.html
The article is a must-read introduction for anyone
wanting to understand the origins and aims of the "
 global war on terror."

  Domestic Discord

Inside the US, Bush approval ratings are well below
30%, and approval ratings for the U.S. Congress and
mainstream media are even lower.  Over three quarters
of the American people believe that the country is on
the wrong track, and just as many want to end the
quicksand war in the Middle East.  The economy is
crashing as fuel prices are skyrocketing.  The
Establishment is losing its grip on power.  It would
take another 9/11 to make the nation forget its
domestic woes and resume its lost zeal for the Neo-Con
"new American century" of foreign wars and a domestic
 police state.

In his much-discussed February article, "False Flag
 Prospects, 2008,"
  http://www.thepriceofliberty.org/08/02/25/may.htm
Captain Eric H. May documented the disturbing fact
that military and police exercises were occurring at
the same time as the 9/11 US attacks in 2001 and the
7/7 UK bombings in 2005.  In that prescient article,
he designated the Pacific Northwest as one of the top
three target zones for the next US false flag attack,
and the Pacific Northwest will be the target of terror
 drills May 1-8.

Should a major event occur during the drills, the Bush
administration is prepared to implement National
Security Presidential Directive (NSPD) 51, which
establishes dictatorship "in the event of a man-made
or natural catastrophe."  It is an extraordinary
measure, and the White House has stonewalled Homeland
Security Committee members from the House of
Representatives who wanted to read it.  One of those
members, Oregon's Peter DeFazio summed up the feeling
of many Americans about NSPD 51 when he said "Maybe
the people who think there's a conspiracy out there
 are right."

Fears that a false flag attack might result in martial
law are nourished by last week's militaristic
Operation Sudden Impact, reported by Infowars.net
writer Steve Watson:  "Three States Subjected to
 Martial Law Sweeps"
  http://www.infowars.net/articles/april2008/180408impact.htm

  National Level Exercise 8-02

NLE 2-08 will involve the very highest levels of
Homeland Security and the US Northern Command.  Both
"Homesec" and "Northcom" were established by the Bush
administration in the wake of 9/11 to take control of
the nation in the event of another terrorist attack.
They will be joined by FEMA in the May 1-8 exercise,
which is one of the two largest terror drills
 scheduled this year.

On Thursday, May 1, the exercise begins in Washington,
when an explosion collapses the Alaska Way viaduct in
downtown Seattle and damages surrounding buildings.
Twenty minutes later, terrorists explode a highjacked
tanker ship filled with highly toxic chemicals at the
Seattle Ferry Terminal.  Deadly gas soon permeates
 downtown Seattle.

Emergency responders come in waves.  Police and
firemen, first to arrive, are quickly overwhelmed.
The state deploys its 22-member Civil Support Team, a
National Guard unit, to assess the damage and
coordinate support.  Later, 100 soldiers from a
chemical battalion based in Yakima arrive to rescue,
decontaminate and treat survivors.  Finally, 5,000
troops arrived to handle logistics and security.

On Monday, May 5, the scenario shifts to Oregon where
VX, the most toxic nerve agent ever synthesized,
erupts from the Umatilla Army Depot.

The next day, terrorists blow up a chemical tanker in
Ferndale, Washington.  The county sheriff requests
national support, and a Marine Corps chemical warfare
detachment from Ft. Lewis, Washington responds.

According to sources at Northcom, NLE 2-08 will
involve "robust play," with "surprise injects" of
unanticipated events in which participants are
"stretched to the limit" and have "everything thrown
at them except the kitchen sink."  All of this makes
it easier for the exercise to "go live" by having a
 real catastrophe occur.

As the Pacific Northwest scenario is playing out,
Washington, DC will be simulating a catastrophic
hurricane as part of the same exercise.  It wouldn't
be much of a stretch to suggest that this puts Dick
Cheney back in the bunker he occupied during 9/11.

Citizens interested in understanding how local, state
and national levels of the military can be manipulated
into working against us should read "The Real Drill"
by Major William B. Fox, about Portland area terror
 drills last year.
  http://www.lonestaricon.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=2006&z=186

  Mission of Conscience

Many American citizens are deeply concerned about
police militarization, and about government and media
preconditioning of our nation for future terror
attacks and martial law.  We recommend that they
monitor NLE 2-08 closely.  Armed with cell phones,
cameras and the Internet, they are the single greatest
 deterrent against false flag terror.

If we, the co-authors of this alert, are in error
about anything, then we invite reasonable officials to
investigate us and our assertions at the very highest
levels.  In the past we have too often met with
hostility, evasion or deception by officials involved
in terror drills.  We have been stonewalled when we
have requested access to an extended schedule of
unclassified military and police terror drills.

We believe that there is a pattern of official
retaliation against patriotic service members who ask
questions about 9/11 and false flags.

In 2006, Sergeant First Class Donald Buswell, an Army
military intelligence NCO, suggested that 9/11 might
have been a false flag operation.  Within a month the
decorated 40-year-old Iraq war veteran suffered a
freak pulmonary embolism, which nearly killed him.
After he was released from the hospital, his command
accused him of disloyalty for his remarks, and
subjected him to an extensive military investigation.
Ultimately, he was fully exonerated, and the
now-retired Buswell has become widely known on the
Internet as the "9/11 NCO."  Stephen Webster, writing
for The Lone Star Iconoclast, gained national
attention with his story about Buswell, "Under Fire!
U.S. Army Intelligence Analyst Targeted for Suggesting
 New Independent 9/11 Investigation."
  http://www.lonestaricon.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=426&z=40

The duty to keep the government honest isn't optional
for those of us who have taken an oath to defend the
Constitution against all enemies, foreign and
domestic.  It has always been difficult, and even
dangerous, to serve the American people.  We call on
all active-duty soldiers, police and first responders
to obey their oaths by asking questions that need to
be asked, and by thinking twice before blindly
carrying out orders that may result in an a false flag
attack against their country.  We urge leaders of
those soldiers, police and first responders to explain
that diligence is not disloyalty, and that no one
ceases to be a free American citizen by putting on a
 uniform.

Issuing an alert -- as we are doing now -- is not an
instance of "crying wolf," as Bush administration
apologists often assert.  As military-trained experts,
we are convinced that the US 9/11 and UK 7/7 attacks
were set up under the camouflage of terror drills.
The existence of a wolf is not in question.  The wolf
of false flag terror has killed our fellow citizens
and frightened our country into needless wars.  It's
our mission of conscience to keep it from striking
 again.

I asked my insider friend about an Iran attack…he said
“Yes,
But it is France and Germany who are pushing for it! Their entire war fleets are positioned and they about to be joined with Britain, with the U.S. having coordinating control because of the new intelligent Sats.
If the mullahs will not listen to reason, and the U.N....... it will get ugly.
How sad that a little awakening would eliminate all of this unnecessary waste.”

Dr. James H. Fetzer, the founder of
Scholars for 9/11 Truth, must read article…especially toward the end.

Perhaps solar steam generation and thin film photovoltaic can be combined in the same structure...creating a spun plastic that magnifies and focuses the heat, as well as generating electricity.

Everyone loves solar power. The notion of making electricity from the Earth’s solar income is pretty much irresistible. But the harsh reality of our current state of PV (photovoltaic) technology, a reality that not many choose to acknowledge, is that without government subsides, solar power just doesn’t pay for itself in any timely way—certainly not the kind of way that would make the profit-minded jump. But that may only be because our days of silicon-based solar cells are numbered. In an article from the Telegraph this week, Ambrose Evans-Prichard talks to Anil Sethi of Flisom, a Swiss firm making thin-film solar cells. Sethi confidently expects his company’s products be giving fossil-fuel generated power a run for their money within five years, and that within ten years, solar will undercut coal, natural gas, and nuclear by 50%. That’s what is technically referred to as clobbering. The crucial tipping point, says Evans-Prichard, is the $1 per watt point: the current price of most non-renewable energy sources. Current solar technology puts the price of solar power at about $3 to $4 per watt. Anil Sethi of Flisom foresees his thin-film solar panels (commercially available in late 2009) reaching $.80/watt in five years, and $.50/watt within ten.

Thin film solar modules don’t use the costly, and limited, silicon that we are used to. The technology is based on CIGS (copper indium gallium selenide) arranged on a flexible backing, suitable for not only the tops, but also the sides of buildings, tinted windows, cell phones, notebook computers, cars, and even clothing. Thin film solar panels are “printed” onto the rolled backing, eliminating many of the highly energy and chemical intensive processes that are typical in convention PV manufacture. Oil Giant Shell is placing its chip on thin-film, and in the US, Nanosolar is positioning itself to be a leader in the thin-revolution. With the investment dollars of Google’s founders, Nanosolar is building a plant in California the capacity of which would catapult it into the top solar makers in the world. ::Telegraph

If you are a US serviceman or woman and you fail to come back in one piece, you're pretty much on your own.

If you do receive medical services, you'll have to fight for every penny and what you'll get will be substandard at best.

Recently, the military has been sending bills to wounded soldiers.

Why?

Because of their injuries they failed to complete their tours of duty for which they received sign up bonuses. The government wants them to pay back the bonuses for the time they're not available for service.

It pays to read the fine print when dealing with the government.

It pays even better not to deal with the government at all unless you have a floor or two full of attorneys to deal with them...which is why the Fortune 500 et. al. have in essence taken over the country.

and for a humorous take:

Here is a guy making reef concrete balls for rehab. But these are not going to increase the water pH or reduce water  temperature or reduce pollution. http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/03/06/heroes.barber/
Also there is a danger of his balls rolling up onto shore and serving as battering rams to human structures along the coastline…considering that we will be getting larger storm activity and more tsunamis in future. Perhaps we cannot save the coral reefs as they have been until we collectively change our ecoethical behavior, so what will probably happen is the spectrum of coral species will change with the temps, perhaps with some help in transplanting species from different areas. We should be working on the correct type of fertilization program. Whether that be dolomite and iron etc.... John Wheeler of Survival of Civilization would be able to say whether rockdust distribution on the reefs would be of benefit.
Aragonite is a carbonate mineral, one of the two common, naturally occurring polymorphs of calcium carbonate, CaCO3. The other polymorph is the mineral calcite. Aragonite forms naturally in almost all mollusk shells, and as the calcareous endoskeleton of warm- and cold-water corals (Scleractinia). Water with increased CO2 in it is more acid and so the coral cannot form their hard calcium structures as well. However more than warming oceans and CO2 increases, it is nitrogen from agriculture and sewage that is killing the coral reefs.

Petrochemical Nitrogen Fertilizers
Coral reefs function as nitrogen fixers in nutrient poor environments. Blue-green algae also may be fixing nitrogen in coral reefs.
CO2 levels and global warming may or may not pose a threat to the oceans flora and fauna, but fixed nitrogen levels are increasingly cause for concern. Read Charles Birkeland’s paper discussing mankind’s impact on coral and where to go from here.

The Collapse of Coral Reefs: What Can Scientists Do?
By Charles Birkeland     charlesb@hawaii.edu
The doubling of fixed nitrogen on Earth in the past few decades by use of fossil fuels is unprecedented. Nitrogen fixation by combining nitrogen with hydrogen, oxygen or carbon is an expensive energy-consuming uphill process. Also the nitrous oxide (NO2) produced in fossil fuel fertilizer production is 296 times more influential on global warming than carbon dioxide. Every bushel of corn requires the equivalent of ¼-1/3 gallon of oil to grow it. Then the nitrates and phosphates from the fertilizer drain to rivers, ultimately creating algae blooms and large scale dead zones in the ocean. We have to learn that subsidizing production in unnatural ways is unsustainable and will ultimately lead to wholesale ecosystem collapse. The global community has to learn new methods of behavior that take into account future consequences. Subsidizing production with fossil fuel-fixed nitrogen is favorable to the growth of algae and heterotrophic organism, but not to corals.

With correct biodynamic, permacultural growing methods pesticides, herbicides and fossil-fuel fertilizers are unnecessary...you can use mulches, natural fertilizers and undercover nitrogen fixing crops, that enhance the crop and don't compete with it...thereby getting two or more crops in one. The problem is the whole concept of monocrops and chemical agriculture....it is a spiritual sickness - like white bread. This kind of science, religion or politics can only generate problem after problem, because it is "reactionary" not mystic, not generated from the inform-ational matrix of Cosmos itself. But fabricated and spun out of make believe to justify the human animals immediate self interests regardless of consequences. There is no greater spirituality than living in communion with the Earth and gaining the intimate understanding of Nature and the Universe that such communion necessitates.

some interesting insights:

whole article  http://mondediplo.com/2008/02/05military

Our excessive military expenditures did not occur over just a few short years or simply because of the Bush administration’s policies. They have been going on for a very long time in accordance with a superficially plausible ideology, and have now become so entrenched in our democratic political system that they are starting to wreak havoc. This is military Keynesianism — the determination to maintain a permanent war economy and to treat military output as an ordinary economic product, even though it makes no contribution to either production or consumption.

This ideology goes back to the first years of the cold war. During the late 1940s, the US was haunted by economic anxieties. The great depression of the 1930s had been overcome only by the war production boom of the second world war. With peace and demobilisation, there was a pervasive fear that the depression would return. During 1949, alarmed by the Soviet Union’s detonation of an atomic bomb, the looming Communist victory in the Chinese civil war, a domestic recession, and the lowering of the Iron Curtain around the USSR’s European satellites, the US sought to draft basic strategy for the emerging cold war. The result was the militaristic National Security Council Report 68 (NSC-68) drafted under the supervision of Paul Nitze, then head of the Policy Planning Staff in the State Department. Dated 14 April 1950 and signed by President Harry S Truman on 30 September 1950, it laid out the basic public economic policies that the US pursues to the present day.

In its conclusions, NSC-68 asserted: “One of the most significant lessons of our World War II experience was that the American economy, when it operates at a level approaching full efficiency, can provide enormous resources for purposes other than civilian consumption while simultaneously providing a high standard of living” (4).

With this understanding, US strategists began to build up a massive munitions industry, both to counter the military might of the Soviet Union (which they consistently overstated) and also to maintain full employment, as well as ward off a possible return of the depression. The result was that, under Pentagon leadership, entire new industries were created to manufacture large aircraft, nuclear-powered submarines, nuclear warheads, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and surveillance and communications satellites. This led to what President Eisenhower warned against in his farewell address of 6 February 1961: “The conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience” — the military-industrial complex.

By 1990 the value of the weapons, equipment and factories devoted to the Department of Defense was 83% of the value of all plants and equipment in US manufacturing. From 1947 to 1990, the combined US military budgets amounted to $8.7 trillion. Even though the Soviet Union no longer exists, US reliance on military Keynesianism has, if anything, ratcheted up, thanks to the massive vested interests that have become entrenched around the military establishment. Over time, a commitment to both guns and butter has proven an unstable configuration. Military industries crowd out the civilian economy and lead to severe economic weaknesses. Devotion to military Keynesianism is a form of slow economic suicide.
