Halliburton Charged with Selling Nuclear Technologies to Iran

in Top 25 Censored Stories for 2007

Source: Global Research.ca, August 5, 2005, Title: “Halliburton Secretly Doing Business With Key Member of Iran’s Nuclear Team,” Author: Jason Leopold

Faculty Evaluator: Catherine Nelson
Student Researchers: Kristine Medeiros and Pla Herr

According to journalist Jason Leopold, sources at former Cheney company Halliburton allege that, as recently as January of 2005, Halliburton sold key components for a nuclear reactor to an Iranian oil development company. Leopold says his Halliburton sources have intimate knowledge of the business dealings of both Halliburton and Oriental Oil Kish, one of Iran’s largest private oil companies.

Additionally, throughout 2004 and 2005, Halliburton worked closely with Cyrus Nasseri, the vice chairman of the board of directors of Iran-based Oriental Oil Kish, to develop oil projects in Iran. Nasseri is also a key member of Iran’s nuclear development team. Nasseri was interrogated by Iranian authorities in late July 2005 for allegedly providing Halliburton with Iran’s nuclear secrets. Iranian government officials charged Nasseri with accepting as much as $1 million in bribes from Halliburton for this information.

Oriental Oil Kish dealings with Halliburton first became public knowledge in January 2005 when the company announced that it had subcontracted parts of the South Pars gas-drilling project to Halliburton Products and Services, a subsidiary of Dallas-based Halliburton that is registered to the Cayman Islands. Following the announcement, Halliburton claimed that the South Pars gas field project in Tehran would be its last project in Iran. According to a BBC report, Halliburton, which took thirty to forty million dollars from its Iranian operations in 2003, “was winding down its work due to a poor business environment.”

However, Halliburton has a long history of doing business in Iran, starting as early as 1995, while Vice President Cheney was chief executive of the company. Leopold quotes a February 2001 report published in the Wall Street Journal, “Halliburton Products and Services Ltd., works behind an unmarked door on the ninth floor of a new north Tehran tower block. A brochure declares that the company was registered in 1975 in the Cayman Islands, is based in the Persian Gulf sheikdom of Dubai and is “non-American.” But like the sign over the receptionist’s head, the brochure bears the company’s name and red emblem, and offers services from Halliburton units around the world.” Moreover mail sent to the company’s offices in Tehran and the Cayman Islands is forwarded directly to its Dallas headquarters.

In an attempt to curtail Halliburton and other U.S. companies from engaging in business dealings with rogue nations such as Libya, Iran, and Syria, an amendment was approved in the Senate on July 26, 2005. The amendment, sponsored by Senator Susan Collins R-Maine, would penalize companies that continue to skirt U.S. law by setting up offshore subsidiaries as a way to legally conduct and avoid U.S. sanctions under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

A letter, drafted by trade groups representing corporate executives, vehemently objected to the amendment, saying it would lead to further hatred and perhaps incite terrorist attacks on the U.S. and “greatly strain relations with the United States primary trading partners.” The letter warned that, “Foreign governments view U.S. efforts to dictate their foreign and commercial policy as violations of sovereignty often leading them to adopt retaliatory measures more at odds with U.S. goals.”

Collins supports the legislation, stating, “It prevents U.S. corporations from creating a shell company somewhere else in order to do business with rogue, terror-sponsoring nations such as Syria and Iran. The bottom line is that if a U.S. company is evading sanctions to do business with one of these countries, they are helping to prop up countries that support terrorism—most often aimed against America.

UPDATE BY JASON LEOPOLD

During a trip to the Middle East in March 1996, Vice President Dick Cheney told a group of mostly U.S. businessmen that Congress should ease sanctions in Iran and Libya to foster better relationships, a statement that, in hindsight, is completely hypocritical considering the Bush administration’s foreign policy.

“Let me make a generalized statement about a trend I see in the U.S. Congress that I find disturbing, that applies not only with respect to the Iranian situation but a number of others as well,” Cheney said. “I think we Americans sometimes make mistakes . . . There seems to be an assumption that somehow we know what’s best for everybody else and that we are going to use our economic clout to get everybody else to live the way we would like.”

Cheney was the chief executive of Halliburton Corporation at the time he uttered those words. It was Cheney who directed Halliburton toward aggressive business dealings with Iran—in violation of U.S. law—in the mid-1990s, which continued through 2005 and is the reason Iran has the capability to enrich weapons-grade uranium.

It was Halliburton’s secret sale of centrifuges to Iran that helped get the uranium enrichment program off the ground, according to a three-year investigation that includes interviews conducted with more than a dozen current and former Halliburton employees.

If the U.S. ends up engaged in a war with Iran in the future, Cheney and Halliburton will bear the brunt of the blame.
But this shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who has been following Halliburton’s business activities over the past decade. The company has a long, documented history of violating U.S. sanctions and conducting business with so-called rogue nations.

No, what’s disturbing about these facts is how little attention it has received from the mainstream media. But the public record speaks for itself, as do the thousands of pages of documents obtained by various federal agencies that show how Halliburton’s business dealings in Iran helped fund terrorist activities there—including the country’s nuclear enrichment program.

When I asked Wendy Hall, a spokeswoman for Halliburton, a couple of years ago if Halliburton would stop doing business with Iran because of concerns that the company helped fund terrorism she said, “No.” “We believe that decisions as to the nature of such governments and their actions are better made by governmental authorities and international entities such as the United Nations as opposed to individual persons or companies,” Hall said. “Putting politics aside, we and our affiliates operate in countries to the extent it is legally permissible, where our customers are active as they expect us to provide oilfield services support to their international operations. “We do not always agree with policies or actions of governments in every place that we do business and make no excuses for their behaviors. Due to the long-term nature of our business and the inevitability of political and social change, it is neither prudent nor appropriate for our company to establish our own country-by-country foreign policy.”

Halliburton first started doing business in Iran as early as 1995, while Vice President Cheney was chief executive of the company and in possible violation of U.S. sanctions.

An executive order signed by former President Bill Clinton in March 1995 prohibits “new investments (in Iran) by U.S. persons, including commitment of funds or other assets.” It also bars U.S. companies from performing services “that would benefit the Iranian oil industry” and provide Iran with the financial means to engage in terrorist activity.

When Bush and Cheney came into office in 2001, their administration decided it would not punish foreign oil and gas companies that invest in those countries. The sanctions imposed on countries like Iran and Libya before Bush became president were blasted by Cheney, who gave frequent speeches on the need for U.S. companies to compete with their foreign competitors, despite claims that those countries may have ties to terrorism.

“I think we’d be better off if we, in fact, backed off those sanctions (on Iran), didn’t try to impose secondary boycotts on companies . . . trying to do business over there . . . and instead started to rebuild those relationships,” Cheney said during a 1998 business trip to Sydney, Australia, according to Australia’s Illawarra Mercury newspaper.

Can the ecohackers save us?

Many scientists now believe the Earth can be altered to tackle global warming. But are these geoengineers being overly optimistic? Danny Bradbury investigates

Volcano

It sounds like something from B-movie lore. Scientists working to avert global catastrophe invent a terrible technical instrument that could affect the fundamental way that the planet operates. The question is not whether they should use it, but whether they have a choice. In both academic and privately funded laboratories, such techniques are being considered, mostly in response to global warming. Geoengineering, or "ecohacking" - using science to change the environment on a vast scale - could become a reality faster than you think.

There are roughly 385 parts per million (ppm) of carbon in the atmosphere today, and that's making scientists already concerned about global warming unhappy. "I think it's a good goal to not go over 450ppm," says Alan Robock, a professor in the department of environmental sciences at Rutgers University. Many in his field consider that figure to be a tipping point, when global warming could run out of control. "The solution is mitigation," he warns.

But how to mitigate? Paul Crutzen doesn't think we're moving fast enough with reductions in carbon emissions. The professor emeritus at Utrecht University's Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences became one of the most famous geoengineering advocates for his idea of copying the Pinatubo volcano.

Its 1991 eruption sent 10m tonnes of sulphur (which became sulphur dioxide) into the atmosphere, reducing the global temperature by 0.5C the next year. Crutzen suggested a project to produce a similar effect, using balloons or artillery shells to put 1.9m tonnes of sulphur into the atmosphere to cool the Earth.

He wasn't the first would-be ecohacker. As far back as the 1970s, Russian climatologist Mikhail Budyko suggested putting reflective aerosols in the atmosphere. "And the first time that a US president was informed that there might be a global warming problem from carbon dioxide was in 1965," says Ken Caldeira, a scientist at the Carnegie Institution's department of global ecology. "President Johnson's advisors gave him a report that suggested we might put reflective materials across the surface of the ocean." The idea was that these would reflect large amounts of sunlight back into space and mitigate the effects of global warming.

Even in the early 19th century, US meteorologist James Espy advocated burning huge areas of forest in the hope of making rain by affecting the thermal dynamics of the atmosphere, says meterological historian and professor of science, technology, and society at Colby College James R Fleming.

When leading US meterologist Harry Wexler predicted ecohacking in a 1962 lecture, the first weather satellite had been up for three years. "He pointed out that any intervention with the Earth's heat budget could cause a change in the downstream flow and the climactic systems and weather patterns," says Fleming. "He gave serious lectures about the possible inadvertent damage we might do."

As climate change becomes an increasing concern, geoengineering is making a comeback. Scientists are looking at the atmosphere, the ocean, the land and even space to create a variety of effects, including helping to reduce the effect of sunlight on the Earth and sequestering carbon.

Seeding the ocean

US firm Climos plans to seed the ocean with iron particles. This will encourage the development of phytoplankton, it says, which carry large amounts of carbon to the ocean floor when they die. The company hopes to turn a profit by selling carbon credits.

Others are hoping to achieve a similar effect by bringing things up from underneath the ocean, rather than dropping things in from the surface. Atmocean plans to put large tubes in the ocean which will move vertically with the waves, pumping cool water to the surface from 200 metres down, says chief executive Phil Kithil. This will bring more nutrients with it, encouraging the phytoplankton to grow, he hopes.

Kithil adds that there's another benefit: "You're also reducing hurricane intensity by cooling the upper ocean." He argues that deploying these pumps over a roughly 60 x 60km area at one every 500 metres would bring enough cool water to the surface to reduce the intensity of a hurricane or perhaps even divert it, but ultimately he thinks the tubes could cover 80% of the ocean's surface for CO2 sequestration purposes.

Peter Flynn has oceanographic ideas of his own. The professor of mechanical engineering at Canada's University of Alberta cites worries about the Gulf Stream, which cycles warm water from the south Atlantic to the north, and sends cooler water back again. Salty water in the north sinks to the ocean floor and keeps the cycle moving. Should melting fresh water from the Arctic north shut down the pump, the results could be catastrophic, and Europe could be plunged into an ice age. Flynn proposed re-icing the Arctic using 8,000 giant floating platforms that would draw salty water from the ocean and spray it on to winter ice, dramatically increasing its thickness. It would continue to do this in the summer, which would then melt the ice and send tonnes of salty water plunging into the Gulf Stream.

Looking to the stars

Roger Angel, director of the Centre for Astronomical Adaptive Optics at the University of Arizona, is looking to the stars rather than the sea. He wants to put a mesh of tiny light refractors into space to sit between the Earth and the sun. The material would bend some of the sun's rays away from the planet.

"It's probably the most expensive and the cleanest," says Angel, who would need 16 trillion gossamer-light spacecraft, each sitting about a kilometre apart. Roughly 5m tonnes of material would be shot into space by a large magnetic railgun seated at the top of a mountain near the equator. Other than the $1tn (£500bn) launch cost, the other downside would be the 30 years needed to get them up there.

One of the upsides of the project is that it is reversible. Control craft would be needed to keep the others in exact position (using energy harvested from the solar light that they would be diverting). The control craft could move the array of reflectors out of the earth's orbit. In theory, the solar rays that contribute to climate change could be dialed up and down. "But whose hand is on that knob?" asks Caldeira. Whoever controlled the technology would be in a position of significant power. Getting everyone in the world to agree on climactic issues was difficult enough in Kyoto. And things could get even stormier when climactic, technological, and political fronts collide.

"Let's say Europe and North America don't reduce their carbon emissions, and China has a decade-long drought," Caldeira says. "It could say, 'You guys wrecked our climate, and we're going to engineer our own climate to repair things'."

Complicated outcomes

One of the biggest worries for Robock is that such tinkering could produce complicated outcomes. For example, spraying sulphur into the atmosphere might reduce the sunlight by 2%, he argues, but what will it do to the rain? "You might reduce precipitation," he says. "Preliminary results from calculations suggest that the Asian monsoon would be affected, which provides food for billions in Asia."

Some would-be ecohackers such as Espy may have been over-optimistic, but most of today's geoengineers are more cautious in their studies. Flynn says that his system would only be useful if we reached a tipping point.

Angel proposes amortising the cost of his project over 50 years. "You could say that a minimum of 100 million people would have their way of life ruined," says Flynn, musing about a gulf-stream shutdown. The $50bn that he'd need to mitigate the problem seems like a drop in the ocean when you consider that the money currently spent on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq would pay for it in just over three months.

But hopefully we're not in B-movie territory yet. "The simplest thing is to stop putting in the gases that cause the warming," says Robock. When it comes to preventing the conditions that might make governments take geoengineering projects seriously, we all have our hands on the climate dial.

Considering the cost

Money spent on wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in just over 3 months: $50bn

Launch of mesh of light reflectors between earth and the sun: $1tn

BLACKLIGHT is a new field of hydrogen chemistry.
http://pesn.com/2008/05/29/9500481_Blacklight_commercially_ready/
BlackLight Power, Inc. is the pioneer of technology based on the patented process of releasing chemical energy from hydrogen called the "BlackLight Process." The BlackLight Process is said to generate enormous amounts of cheap, non-polluting heat that will replace the thermal power in coal, oil, gas and nuclear power plants that is then converted to electricity. BlackLight has mapped the physical structure of electrons in atoms and molecules that has helped generate a prospectively efficient, clean, cheap, and versatile thermal energy source.

The  BlackLight Process is a novel chemical process causing the latent energy stored in the hydrogen atom to be released as a new primary energy source. This allows the negatively charged electron that is otherwise in a stable orbit to move closer to the naturally attracting, positively charged nucleus to release large amounts of energy. This patented process of releasing chemical energy from hydrogen generates power, heat, plasma (an energetic state of matter comprising a hot, glowing, ionized gas), light, and proprietary new compounds.

The hydrogen fuel could be obtained by diverting a fraction of the output energy of the process to power the electrolysis of water into its elemental constituents. With water as the fuel, the operational cost of BlackLight Power generators is likely to be very inexpensive. Moreover, rather than air pollutants or radioactive waste, novel hydrogen compounds with potential commercial applications are the by-products.

The BlackLight Process is a breakthrough in power generation by the invention of a solid fuel that uses conventional chemical reactions to generate the catalyst and atomic hydrogen at high reactant densities that in turn achieves very high power densities.  In principle, power plants would utilize continuous regeneration of the solid fuel mixture using known industrial processes; and the only consumable, the hydrogen fuel, would be obtained ultimately from water due to the enormous net energy release relative to combustion. The catalyst causes the hydrogen atoms to transition to lower-energy states by allowing their electrons to fall to smaller radii around the nucleus with a release of energy that is intermediate between chemical and nuclear energies.

“Blacklight Power is developing an exotic new source of clean energy from ordinary water. Either an electrolytic cell or gaseous potassium ions in a vacuum compress hydrogen atoms into lower-energy-state hydrogen atoms called "hydrinos". When the hydrinos are formed, energy is released which in magnitude is between chemical and nuclear energy. Blacklight has ambitious plans for retrofitting fossil-fueled and nuclear power plants.” Gary Vesperman

BlackLight Power, Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Millsian, Inc., is dedicated to developing new molecular modeling applications based on The Grand Unified Theory of Classical Physics (GUT-CP), a revolutionary approach to solving atomic and molecular structures that uses the solved structure of electrons for the first time.

here's some insights on why the oil, gas and food prices are going thru the roof.

30/05/08 "ICH" -- - The Commodity Futures and Trading Commission (CFTC) is investigating trading in oil futures to determine whether the surge in prices to record levels is the result of manipulation or fraud. They might want to take a look at wheat, rice and corn futures while they're at it. The whole thing is a hoax cooked up by the investment banks and hedge funds who are trying to dig their way out of the trillion dollar mortgage-backed securities (MBS) mess that they created by turning garbage loans into securities. That scam blew up in their face last August and left them scrounging for handouts from the Federal Reserve. Now the billions of dollars they're getting from the Fed is being diverted into commodities which is destabilizing the world economy; driving gas prices to the moon and triggering food riots across the planet.

For months we've been told that the soaring price of oil has been the result of Peak Oil, fighting in Iraq, attacks on oil facilities in Nigeria, labor problems in Norway, and (the all-time favorite)growth in China. It's all baloney. Just like Goldman Sachs prediction of $200 per barrel oil is baloney. If oil is about to skyrocket then why has G-Sax kept a neutral rating on some of its oil holdings like Exxon Mobile? Could it be that they know that oil is just another mega-inflated equity bubble---like housing, corporate bonds and dot.com stocks—that is about to crash to earth as soon as the big players grab a parachute?

There are three things that are driving up the price of oil: the falling dollar, speculation and buying on margin.

The dollar is tanking because of the Federal Reserve's low interest monetary policies have kept interest rates below the rate of inflation for most of the last decade. Add that to the $700 billion current account deficit and a National Debt that has increased from $5.8 trillion when Bush first took office to over $9 trillion today and it's a wonder the dollar hasn't gone “Poof” already.

According to a January 4 editorial in the Wall Street Journal: “If the dollar had remained 'as good as gold' since 2001, oil today would be selling at about $30 per barrel, not $99. (today $126 per barrel) The decline of the dollar against gold and oil suggests a US monetary that is supplying too many dollars.” Wall Street Journal 1-4-08

The price of oil has more than quadrupled since 2001, from roughly $30 per barrel to $126, WITHOUT ANY DISRUPTIONS TO SUPPLY. There's no shortage; it's just gibberish.

As far as “buying on margin” consider this summary from author William Engdahl:

“A conservative calculation is that at least 60% of today’s $128 per barrel price of crude oil comes from unregulated futures speculation by hedge funds, banks and financial groups using the London ICE Futures and New York NYMEX futures exchanges and uncontrolled inter-bank or Over-The-Counter trading to avoid scrutiny. US margin rules of the government’s Commodity Futures Trading Commission allow speculators to buy a crude oil futures contract on the Nymex, by having to pay only 6% of the value of the contract. At today's price of $128 per barrel, that means a futures trader only has to put up about $8 for every barrel. He borrows the other $120. This extreme “leverage” of 16 to 1 helps drive prices to wildly unrealistic levels and offset bank losses in sub-prime and other disasters at the expense of the overall population.”

So the investment banks and their trading partners at the hedge funds can game the system for a mere 8 bucks per barrel or 16 to 1 leverage. Not bad, eh?

Is it possible that gambling on oil futures might be a temptation for banks that are already underwater from a trillion dollars worth of mortgage-related deals that have “gone south” leaving the banking system essentially bankrupt?

And if the banks and hedgies are not playing this game, then where is the money coming from? I have compiled charts and graphs that show that nearly two-thirds of the big investment banks' revenue came from the securitization of commercial and residential real estate loans. That market is frozen. Besides, this is not just a matter of “loan delinquencies” or MBS that have to be written off. The banks are "revenue starved". How are they filling the coffers? They're either neck-deep in interest rate swaps, derivatives trading, or gaming the futures market. Which is it?

Of course, there is one other possibility, but if that possibility turned out to be right than it would cast doubt on the legitimacy of the entire financial system. In fact, it would prove that the system is being rigged from the top-down by our friends at the Banking Politburo, the Federal Reserve. Here goes:

What if the investment banks are trading their worthless MBS and CDOs at the Fed's auction facilities and using the money ($400 billion) to drive up the price of raw materials like rice, corn, wheat, and oil?

Could it be? Could the Fed really be looking the other way so it can bail out its banking buddies while they drive prices skyward?

If it is true; (and I suspect it is) it hasn't done much good. As the Associated Press reported yesterday:

“The Federal Reserve announced Thursday that it will make a fresh batch of short-term cash loans available to squeezed banks as part of an ongoing effort to ease stressed credit markets. The Fed said it will conduct three auctions in June, with each one making $75 billion available in short-term cash loans. Banks can bid for a slice of the available funds. It would mark the latest round in a program that the Fed launched in December to help banks overcome credit problems so they will keep lending to customers.”

Another $225 billion for the bankers and not a dime for the struggling homeowner! The Fed is bankrupting the country with their permanent rotating loans to keep reckless speculators from going under. So much for moral hazard.

As far as speculation, there is ample evidence that the system is being manipulated. According to MarketWatch:

“Speculative activity in commodity markets has grown "enormously" over the past several years, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee said in a news release. It pointed out that in five years, from 2003 to 2008, investment in the index funds tied to commodities has grown by 20-fold -- to $260 billion from $13 billion.”

And here's a revealing clip from the testimony of Michael W. Masters of Masters Capital Management, LLC, who addressed the issue of “Commodities Speculation” before the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs this week:

“Today, Index Speculators are pouring billions of dollars into the commodities futures
markets, speculating that commodity prices will increase. ...In the popular press the explanation given most often for rising oil prices is the increased demand for oil from China. According to the DOE, annual Chinese demand for petroleum has increased over the last five years from 1.88 billion barrels to 2.8 billion barrels, an increase of 920 million barrels.8 Over the same five-year period, Index Speculatorsʼ demand for petroleum futures has increased by 848 million barrels. THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM INDEX SPECULATORS IS ALMOST EQUAL TO THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM CHINA.

Index Speculators have now stockpiled, via the futures market, the equivalent of 1.1 billion barrels of petroleum, effectively adding eight times as much oil to their own stockpile as the United States has added to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the last five years.

Today, in many commodities futures markets, they are the single largest force.15 The huge growth in their demand has gone virtually undetected by classically-trained economists who almost never analyze demand in futures markets.

As money pours into the markets, two things happen concurrently: the markets expand and prices rise. One particularly troubling aspect of Index Speculator demand is that it actually increases the more prices increase. This explains the accelerating rate at which commodity futures prices (and actual commodity prices) are increasing. The CFTC has taken deliberate steps to allow CERTAIN SPECULATORS VIRTUALLY UNLIMITED ACCESS TO THE COMMODITIES FUTURES MARKETS. The CFTC has granted Wall Street banks an exemption from speculative position limits when these banks hedge over-the-counter swaps transactions. This has effectively opened a loophole for unlimited speculation. When Index Speculators enter into commodity index swaps, which 85-90% of them do, they face no speculative position limits.... The result is a gross distortion in data that effectively hides the full impact of Index Speculation.” (Thanks to Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis; the one “indispensable” financial blog on the Internet)

Masters adds that the CFTC is pressing to make “Index Speculators exempt from all position limits” so they can make “unlimited” bets on the futures which are wreaking havoc on the global economy and pushing millions towards starvation. Of course, these things pale in comparison to the higher priority of fatting the bottom line of the parasitic investor class.

Brimming oil tankers are presently sitting off the coasts of Iran and Louisiana. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve has been filled. Demand is flat. The world's biggest consumer of energy (guess who?) is cutting back . As CNN reports:

“At a time when gas prices are at an all-time high, Americans have curtailed their driving at a historic rate. The Department of Transportation said figures from March show the steepest decrease in driving ever recorded. Compared with March a year earlier, Americans drove an estimated 4.3 percent less -- that's 11 billion fewer miles, the DOT's Federal Highway Administration said Monday, calling it "the sharpest yearly drop for any month in FHWA history." (CNN)

The great oil crunch is another fabricated crisis; another "smoke and mirrors" fiasco; another Enron-type shell-game engineered by banksters and hedge fund managers. Once again, the bloody footprints can be traced right back to the front door of the Federal Reserve. Don't expect help from the regulators either; they've all been replaced with business reps like Harvey Pitt or Hank Paulson. The only time anyone in the Bush administration finds their conscience is when they're offered a multi-million dollar “tell all” book deal.

 Can you hear me, Scotty?

:angel:Hmm, according to Canadian Rick Simpson on his youtube video "Run from the Cure"...oil made from the marijuana plant, what he calls Hemp Oil (Hash oil) is a major cure for cancer...and many other diseases. He says the active cancer-cure ingredient is the THC itself. Even wikipedia has an article on THC being an effective anti-cancer treatment. Check out some scientific papers on google. Woo Hoo!

“If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear as it is, infinite.” William Blake

After watching a Terrence Mckenna vid where he talked about taking Syrian rue seeds by themselves, I am just presently experimenting with the harmaline in Syrian rue for increasing serotonin...my primary wiring was still interfering in my life. Even though in ecstasy for over ten years, my serotonin must still have been low due to primate status wiring from childhood.

MAOIs are potentially dangerous when taken in large doses, or when combined with other psychoactive substances (antidepressants, illicit drugs, painkillers, stimulants, etc.) When Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) encounter tyramine in the body they can cause a reaction which can result in high blood pressure, headaches and occasionally even strokes. This means when taking MAOIs you need to avoid the amino acids tryptophan or tyrosine and foods such as cheese, beer, wine, coffee, yogurt and chocolate. The precursor to melatonin is serotonin, a neurotransmitter that itself is derived from the amino acid tryptophan. When melatonin levels increase, serotonin levels usually decrease, since more serotonin is converted to melatonin. Many people found tryptophan to be a safe and reasonably effective sleep aid, probably due to its ability to increase brain levels of serotonin and melatonin.

http://iamshaman.com/eshop/10Browse.asp?Category=Seeds:Syrian%20Rue
Many tryptamines have MAOI properties. Harmine (present in Harmal, Banisteriopsis caapi, and tobacco) is a powerful MAOI, which is often used as one of the ingredients of ayahuasca. The seed of Syrian Rue (Peganum Harmala), contain about 2% of mixed Harmala alkaloids which act as an MAO inhibitor that prevents the breakdown of serotonin…which in turn may mean more melatonin is produced. Grind the Rue seeds in a coffee grinder, mix 2 part Rue powder, with 1 part Galangal powder and 1 part Ginger powder and put into capsules. Take one OO capsule per day.

I am taking one capsule in the morning, which promotes a relaxation of muscles, including facial muscles, a spinning loose of the personality, self-consciousness disappears, laissez fare attitude. Blood circulation increases…I am in heart expansion at present so there is a lot of kundi-heat, I feel more circulation and feeling in feet and hands…perhaps the sympathetic nervous system is relaxed by the Rue due to increase in serotonin levels. This should mean that digestion is improved also. I started taking one at night also which might give a better night sleep.

In Morocco, the seeds are simply added to wine for harmala wine, or they are powdered to make a snuff that is supposed to cause a "clear mind.” I am also making an Abramelin massage oil and anointing oil with the ground Rue seeds, cinnamon, ginger, galangal and clove. To make this I will put the powders in Grapeseed oil and hemp oil in a dark bottle for a month, shaking once a day. The anointing oil will be the concentrated product that I squeeze from the sediment.

Preserving serotonin levels allows for greater boundary formation due to increasing filtering of sensory information. This helps in preserving the sense of self in social situations and prevent being sucked into the “Others” reality space as much. Serotonin suppresses synaptic activity in the amygdala and throughout the neocortex and thus reduces sensory input. Under conditions which overwork the limbic system, serotonin may be depleted and sensory filtering diminished…wherein limbic sensory acuity is increased. Studies indicate the MAOIs can reduce the hallucinations of schizophrenic patients. Schizophrenics have increased levels of dopamine in the left amygdala especially. Serotonin is the primary neurotransmitter known to modulate dopamine, so the increased levels of serotonin delivered by the Harmalin may act as a break on dopamine hyperactivation of the hippocampus-amygdala. It seems possible that excessive dopaminic neurotransmission in the limbic system is related to the thought disorder of schizophrenia.

Harmalin has inverse agonist properties at the NDMA channel. This mechanism prevents the metabolic breakdown of the monamine neurotransmitters serotonin, norephinephrine and dopamine, which allows for the extended action of these neurotransmitters at their respective receptors. The fact that harmalin works to conserve the use of the “relaxing” serotonin and the “stimulating” norephinephrine and dopamine—is why the Rue seeds tend to promote a relaxed alertness.

As a reversible inhibitor of MAO, harmalin may pose less of a risk of serious interaction with stimulant drugs or certain foodstuffs.

Restoring Our Earth To Vibrant Health
by Don Weaver
Earth Health Regeneration ~ earthdon@yahoo.com
“Healing the damage of industrial civilization is the task of our generation.” —Leonardo DiCaprio
“Examine each question in terms of what is ethically and esthetically right, as well as what is economically expedient. A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability, and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise.”  —Aldo Leopold
“Our life on Earth is a fellowship of being, and there can be neither prosperity nor survival for those whose practices continually violate the laws of interdependent life."  —Henry Geiger

You may have already consciously embraced your part in healing and restoring the Earth to a much higher state of health and vibrance but, if not, please consider this your invitation!
This has been my main focus for 30 years while replenishing soils, planting gardens and orchards and teaching about the health of the Biosphere.
While many socio-ecological problems have worsened over these 30 years, it appears that an ever higher percentage of our 6.6 billion population is waking up to the need to transform our ways of living, to truly go “green,” to make peace with the Earth and ourselves, to end the “war on Terra.” This Terra, the beautiful living Earth of which we are an essential part, needs each of us to become conscious contributors to personal/planetary healing. You are needed and invited and welcomed!
Here are some views from my perspective as a health-oriented ecologist and organic grower.
Ecological Action
We need to swiftly, consciously and wisely become the generous species on Earth. We've taken so much from the soils, plants, trees and animals; we have a huge debt that must be paid to restore our own vibrant health and that of the whole interdependent chain of life. Fortunately, we can do this by remineralizing the world's soils with natural mixtures of rock dust, returning the increased amount of organic matter back to the soil. This will build its fertility and depth while enabling abundant production to meet our needs for pure natural foods, fiber, timber/bamboo, biomass energy (alcohol, bio-diesel, wood, hemp, etc.), as well as beautiful landscapes, parks, and wildlands. (Related note: On 2/08/08, Reuters gave the news of General Motors’ plan
that half of their new cars will be fueled by ethanol by 2012; current cars can be converted to run on a bio-fuel, electricity, or both.)
By our choosing healthy vegetarian/vegan/raw-food lifestyles, hundreds of millions of acres now used for animal-based agriculture and drug crops can be converted to organic-mineralized orchards, farms and new forestland. Also, fast-growing tree plantations on remineralized soils can simultaneously build soil fertility and convert CO2 to leaf and wood for alcohol fuel and wood energy. Leaves and residues can be returned to the soil. This can replace the practice of burning carbon stored in the ground as oil, coal, and natural gas, which is wrecking our interglacial climate.
This conversion can eliminate what currently comprises 20% of total CO2 emissions from animal “husbandry,” enabling us to quickly plant the many billions of trees needed to bring CO2 down from about 385 ppm to a stable interglacial level of about 280 ppm. Remineralizing much of the current forestland will greatly reduce the widespread disease, insect and fire epidemics, enabling forests to again grow healthy and strong. This will pull in billions of tons of CO2 through renewed nourishment and vibrance from soil microbes up to treetops. It will reverse soil acidification, allow the soil life-system to hold much more moisture for year-round availability and ameliorate the increasing “tinderbox” conditions in many malnourished forests. Stabilizing CO2
levels and the planetary climate is the sensible approach if we want to save what is left of our forests and nurture the growth of new ones over much of the Earth.
Whether you lean toward the widely accepted “global warming” theory and related evidence, or the “new glacial period” thesis and evidence as put forth by John Hamaker and others, including myself, I think we can all agree on the wisdom of remineralizing and regreening the Earth to reverse the current slide into “climate chaos.” For example, in our recent winter of 2007-2008, there were record cold and crop-destroying snowstorms all the way into southern China, Greece, the Middle East, Florida as well as north to Alaska, Canada and Greenland, with the highest level of Northern Hemisphere snow cover in at least 52 years.
Along with the understanding that we've about reached “Peak Oil,” we need to realize our soil-devouring civilization has already passed “Peak Soil.”  Earth is in urgent need of replenishment.  Can the human mind and heart awaken and shift from egocentric to ecocentric, from the shortsighted habits of Earth-exploitative materialism to Earth-regenerative compassion, simple eco-living and co-creation of natural abundance and health for all?
I have appreciated the inspiration for this awakening provided by many wise philosophers from Thoreau and Emerson to J. Krishnamurti and Eckhart Tolle, and am glad to see Oprah Winfrey’s new initiative. She has invited Tolle to appear on her TV show and is joining with him to teach an online class series based on his latest book, A New Earth. Over 750,000 have signed up at her website so far. As well, Oprah’s new show, “The Big Give,” is sowing the seeds of greater generosity in the human heart.
Health-and-Ecology Education Are Key
The signs are hopeful that in time, Oprah and all of us can realize that “A New Earth” is possible through our heartfelt understanding, vision and actions. The alternative—a dying Earth—is simply unacceptable.  A working knowledge of the basics of health and ecology is the key to discernment when it comes to the teachings of our current educational system on these subjects, as well as in detaching from brainwashing about Earth-detrimental products and “lifestyles” touted by most media and the 36-billion-dollar advertising industry in the U.S. Ongoing self-education throughout life seems the wise course.
John Robbins' excellent new book, Healthy at 100, contains information on the wisdom of other cultures, including some of the healthiest and longest-lived. As John writes:
“Depending on what we choose to affirm and cultivate within ourselves and our children, we can collectively turn this planet into a hell or a heaven. Whether we like it or not, and whether we accept it or not, our choices make an enormous difference. How we treat ourselves and each other always matters.
“This is why I believe that the world's healthiest and most long-lived peoples offer us a vision of hope for our time. In Okinawa, Abkhasia, Vilcabamba and Hunza, there is a deep sense of human connection and social integrity. People continually help one another and believe in one another. There are always ways for people to make amends for mistakes and be forgiven, so people are almost never discarded or rejected. Wealth is shared rather than hoarded. As one Abkhasian proverb puts it, ‘I am whole because you are whole.’ “
John next quotes Dr. Allen Banik, author of Hunza Land:
“In Hunza, I seemed to be in another world, a world of friendliness and good nature. Covetousness, envy and jealousy were nonexistent; no police force was needed to keep order; unlocked doors were not a temptation.”
People of these cultures eat a mostly raw and mostly plant-food organic diet, as well as lead an outdoors active life close to the land for the young and long-time young alike. John describes the Hunza model of soil replenishment in depth, here quoting J.I. Rodale's The Healthy Hunzas:
“The magnificent health of the Hunzans is due to…the way in which their food is raised…I am sure that the powdered rock dust which flows onto the Hunzan land is a significant factor in the outstanding results obtained by the Hunzans.”
Since people of all of the cultures studied in Healthy at 100 have eaten whole, mineralized, organic food throughout their lives, they've been virtually untouched by cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, etc. In contrast, there are “12 million new cases of malignancy worldwide in 2007,” with almost 8 million dying from their cancer and/or their medical “treatments” (HealthDay.com, 12/17/07), while the incidence of obesity in the U.S. has increased from 13 to 32 percent since the
1960s (Acres USA, Sept. 2007). Both junk food addiction and hidden hunger for nutrients lacking in soils and foods are primary causes of obesity, along with sedentary lifestyles, of course. We have less energy to exercise, to garden, or even to think rationally when we are malnourished, so look out for this “vicious cycle.” Let us also avoid seeking to fill our needs for emotional and spiritual nourishment with food. Consider how love for self and others can be the inspirational foundation to bring about a full restoration of human and planetary health.
Organiculture Can Restore “Earth Health”
Fruition, a farm on Maui, is another model of the health-oriented agriculture of the future, thriving on 11 acres of previously neglected pastureland. Former San Franciscans Stephan Reeve and his mom, Dorli, have co-created an Edenic garden and orchard a la the Hunzans with generous soil remineralization, mulching and composting. Fruition produces a growing abundance of mineralized avocados, mangos, papayas, lychees, jakfruit, sapotes, tangelos, rambutans and many others, probably exceeding the variety grown in Hunza. Continued generous remineralization and compost return should soon allow Fruition to match the quality of the Hunzan “Shangri-La.” Why don’t we all strive for such high standards of soil fertility, food quality, health and active
longevity?
While I’m fortunate to have some mineralized fruits and veggies year-round from my gardens here in California, my two weeks working at Fruition this past January was extra-nourishing and rejuvenating to body and spirit. Along with eating a variety of fresh, ripe, mineralized produce, renewing great friendships and swimming often, my rock dusting of a new grove of rollinia trees was a highlight as I love to help young trees grow to healthful fruition. Not only are rollinia trees very beautiful and fast-growing, the rollinia fruit has joined my favorite five fruits of the world, along with sapote, durian, atemoya, apricot…and perhaps tied with nectarines, cherries, peaches, persimmons, pineapple…
The marvelous fact is that when we grow foods in remineralized and organic matter-enriched soils (animal manures and slaughterhouse by-products are not needed, thankfully), the development of the flavor and of all the health-promoting compounds can, if you are truly hungry, make each food a favorite at the time of eating! The more we intelligently give to Nature, the more Nature gives back, often a hundredfold or more!
The fruits and vegetables grown by remineralizing farmer Bob Cannard, chosen by Alice Waters to supply the produce for Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley, and by Rick and Kristi Knoll at Tairwa Farm in Brentwood, California, also come in for high praise. (Many appreciative customers agree with the Knolls’ own assessment of their farm and food as “beyond organic.”) Now with Cal-Organic, California’s largest organic farm, adding at least 3000 tons of Summa Minerals rock dust to their increasingly remineralized acreage, it is clear that mineralized-organic can succeed from the smallest garden to the largest farm and beyond. The need for global Earth Regeneration work can eliminate unemployment and make crime as scarce as it is in the
well-nourished, engaged-with-Nature cultures. The real crime is our neglect of healthy human development, such that over 2.2 million are now imprisoned in the U.S.
The fact that crime, war and ecological destruction are virtually unknown in cultures such as Hunza that Robbins writes of in Healthy at 100, tells us that these are extremely unnatural practices; their existence in our own culture is telling us we must heal ourselves at every level of being, in every inter-relationship and “from soil to psyche.”
Wouldn't it be great if, instead of spending 5 billion dollars or more per week on warfare, we would use it to fund all the crucially needed Earth Regeneration projects? Is anything more important? A new and vibrant Earth calls us forward. Now is the time to exercise our “response-abilities” and to express our love and thanks for the gift of life!
I’ll conclude with a partial list of positive steps we can each consider taking, if right for us; then a few websites promoting soil remineralization, eco-agriculture, tree and orchard planting, healthful living and deeper understanding of our eco-climatic crisis and opportunity. It is my hope that you will joyfully discover your own vital role in restoring vibrance to your health and that of your larger body, the living Earth!
Positive Steps to Consider
1. Start a garden/orchard/farm/Earth Regeneration Center to provide food, beauty, and inspiration to yourself and others. Buy seeds and trees from independent and organic growers whenever possible as there is a major corporate push to take over, hybridize, chemicalize, and genetically modify agriculture and the food supply. Save seeds and propagate plants yourself, as well. Start a plant and tree nursery.
2. Remineralize the soil, make compost, feed the microbes and earthworms to restore the foundation of health and life.
3. Buy only organically grown foods and other natural products; try eating mostly or only plant foods and mostly or only fresh/raw/ripe foods; share the good news about soil mineralization and organic growing practices with farmers and as many people as you can.
4. Simplify every aspect of life to promote health for people and planet; work together with those supporting global health; withdraw your support from those people and companies whose practices are harmful to the ecosystem and encourage them to go constructively green.
5. Become knowledgeable about your own region as well as about the world in general so you may better influence local and global politics and consciousness through writing, speaking and leading new positive initiatives. Community gardens/orchards, tree nurseries and tree planting projects are needed almost everywhere, as are more Community Supported Agriculture enterprises, natural food potlucks and healthy living education centers and events.
6. Explore co-housing and cooperative community and eco-village options for you and loved ones, and/or retrofit your current residence for increased solar power, food growing and green living. Study Permaculture principles to see how they apply to your living and growing environment.
7. Help schools start organic, mineralized gardens and orchards—the “Edible Schoolyards” founded by Alice Waters in Berkeley, California are an example to build upon. Share Nature’s beauty and miracles with children to prevent further spread of “Nature Deficit Disorder.”
8. Add to this list according to your nature and inner inspiration, and try out the advice to “be the most positive person you know.”

Soul = Antaryamin = Success
Antaryamin—The insider who is hidden. indweller in the heart, direct revelation, the inner control, the Guide in the conscious being, the innermost Atman, the real Self.
Sri Bhagavan says, “Formless as I am, I the Antaryamin shall awaken formless within you or in the form you desire or the form I choose.”
A communion with the Divine or the Antaryamin is the surest way to be rid of suffering once and forever.

"The intelligence of the heart is the intelligence of the Universe to hold itself in unison." ~ Joseph Chilton Pearce.

Inertia, resistance, confusion, dissonance is the false illusion of identification and distraction. In order to follow the intelligence of the Heart there is a need to constantly "clean" oneself of physical, mental and emotional debris in order to be ready and sensitive to the Hearts calling. The deadening and enslaving nature of culture needs to be won over through aligning with Grace, through play, through awakening the senses and through dreaming.

By reducing entropic decay at the molecular level the volume of spirits ability to incarnate into the physical here and now is enhanced at the subatomic level. Information and inform-ation being enhanced through more efficient electromagnetic energy transfer, enhanced ionic polarity differentials and stabilized molecular structures due to increased electrical power in the bonding angles of the ORMUS water. Hello to all of our wonderful supporters!

As I sit here in my office at this beautiful research park in Hawaii, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and a great sense of accomplishment for what we have done so far, as well as hope for the future and dedication to the continuity of our work.

As is clearly articulated in the theories foundational to The Resonance Project, change is the nature of this universe.  We as a foundation are currently faced with a great level of change.

In the past three years we have spent much energy building a beautiful sustainable research park, and I have personally made many sacrifices and worked extreme hours to make this all happen in a timely manner.  The result is that we’ve made enormous progress towards collaborative advancement of the science of unified field theory with colleagues from around the world, as well as developing crucial sustainable technologies based on this research.  We believe it is within our grasp to provide the awareness and understanding as well as the technologies necessary to transform our world.

However as happens with the many aspects of all of our lives, we must adjust to the transformations that occur.  Due to the redirection of the resources from a major contributor, I am sad to announce that we find ourselves in a period of re-organization and financial difficulties.  In order to streamline our operations and because all the work that was done here was done on land that is owned by the same donor, we are having to abandon the research park and move to another location.

Once again in history, the financial world is depriving humanity of a chance to transcend our limitations and scarcity, and to truly emerge with advancements in our understanding and technologies in a world of sustainable and abundant energy.   As I sit here, my heart sinks, contemplating all of the great work that may be suspended as a result.  It is imperative that we diversify our funding sources to provide a broad base of support and ongoing financial stability for the organization.  This level of work must emerge as a result of a collective force generated by the public at large, supporting the emergence of it into the world without being held hostage to one supporting source.

THIS WORK IS FOR HUMANITY AND SHOULD BE SUPPORTED BY HUMANITY.

Today, you have an opportunity to take action to help support us during this critical moment.  We are asking YOU to participate so that we can bring this vital work to fruition.  We are as committed as ever to keep moving forward in our mission, and it is time to invite all of you who are excited by and appreciate the work we are doing to support us.  Remember that out of chaos comes the coherency of singularity – it is all part of the nature of the universe.

We call on you to make a tax deductible contribution to The Resonance Project at a level within with your financial capacity NOW.  If you cannot make a large donation, consider giving up one morning latte or one night out and donate to us instead.  A dollar, a thousand dollars, a hundred thousand dollars; all are greatly appreciated.

Another way you can contribute is by promoting the DVD:

http://theresonanceproject.org/products.html

Every DVD we sell helps us towards our financial goals and educates the public about the emergence of these new physics and technologies.   Do you know of a bookstore or a video club that should carry our DVD?  Then please contact us and let us know about it. The full success of our fundraising efforts comes from having many donors at all levels of capacity. So please participate now at whatever level you can. Remember that small drops of water make up a tidal wave - be a drop that contributes to a tidal wave of beneficial change in the world. YOU will make a difference!

You can make a donation in a variety of ways:

Directly on our website through Paypal:

http://theresonanceproject.org/contribute.html

By mailing a check to The Resonance Project at:

PO Box 764
Holualoa, HI 96725

By Phone or Wire Transfer:

Please contact us directly at (808) 327-9630

In addition we have several fundraising programs in full swing which can support us at no cost to you!  For more information,  please go to:

http://theresonanceproject.org/contribute.html

We are also seeking large donors who share the vision of bringing this essential work into the world. Are you connected with any celebrities, high-capacity donors, philanthropists or visionaries who might have the interest to help the project in a big way? If so, please spread the word and inform us of any leads, especially any personal connections that you'd be willing to introduce to the project.

Thank you for the many ways you support us and we look forward to a long and beneficial relationship with you!
