Alllright! The Fall by Steve Taylor is starting off good...
"For almost all of recorded history human beings have been - at least to some degree - insane. This seems incredible because we have come to accept the consequences of our insanity as normal. If madness is everywhere, nobody knows what sane, healthy and rational behavior is anymore."
You folks will be pleased to know that as of today I have given up trying to save the A.mer.ican soul.
I will probably still continue on, but I will be distanced from my actions, and more playful, less serious about the job.
I was talking with Nawang Khechog tonight...Tibetan flutest...he said he came to A.me.ica from Oz because the US is a SUPERPOWER, hence he thought his music here might have some effect for the Tibetan cause. I think that pressure on China will not come from the US because the US and China are in bed together and China is on top!. So I told him to go to NZ with a recording crew and play flute to the Southern Alps, and that NZ is into mediation not war. I think Nawang Khechog's New Zealand CD will do more for world peace than all his years in A.mer.ica.
PS: Nawang Khechog is going to play at Joe Walsh's wedding, Ringo Star is best man...shine on you crazy diamond.
The light and the dark...gotta love it all.

The thing is to find a boss that wants his/her employees to win.
With this brain-damage work I am doing regarding social dynamics I realize the people you surround yourself with is fundamental on a neural level to what you become.
As my father once said..."Everything is the opposite of what it seems."

sounds like wayyyyyy too much drama for me.
i guess i'm fortunate in my little janitor job that pays 35+k a year where after i kick the day shift out the door i only see 5 or 6 people every night, and then only briefly. i do my manual labor (literally sweeping the temple steps) for a few hours, getting alittle exercise and and practice finding mindfulness in a mindless task, and then get to read or play my flute. the bosses are of course totally inept, but they stay away, i see my supervisor, two levels up, about every two years.
unless you're totally self sufficient or own your own buisness, being at the bottom is a nice place to be

Sounds like a great opportunity to orchestrate a practical joke or two. You'll need at least one inside ally though...

Wow, cleaning sounds good, I love cleaning...but I like gardening more.
Practical Joke...I usually don't like to engage a situation on its own level, but seek to bring creativity to pull up the energy, or work on my own body feeling into the neuro-consequences...but the complexity and no-win of this situation takes alllll of my energy just to maintain baseline normalicy...my writing this year has been sloooow as a result of the emotional drain. I think this is continuation of the hopelessness and no-win situation of childhood, so I think it might be systemic.
I might find this garbage wherever I go, I have been wayyy patient and tolerant...the silence I have to maintain is killing me. I can't even think of a practical joke...my approach is to outnice and magnanimus but in a community of the delinquent this only makes the matter worse.

i think the key to working for someone else for money is finding something you like doing (or at least something you don't mind doing) that has a low BS factor. work is work, whether physical or intellectual, it's the surrounding people and enviornment that can make it unbearable. it all depends on the person for what ratio of work/BS is right for them and what form of either is acceptable.
i think Boulder would be a nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there. on the surface it has all those "spiritual" people and energies, but deep down they're all too full of themselves to be really spiritual, more of an ego spirituality. having to maintain a silence is the antithesis of living in the equanimity of silence, that comes from within. i guess an enlightened person could do both, but i can't, at the moment.
since we're talking about jobs/work, i was wondering if anyone else has this problem or noticed that most people seem to do no more than is necessary and complain about what little they do do, even when it's what they're getting paid for? spending more time bitching about things than it takes to actually do them. i've been in the black hole of waterworld so long i don't know if that's how things are on the outside. i'm thinking that is a big part of the problem with todays world.

Americans are spoilt children, but I think it is deeper than that.
People have lost their natural sense of fullness and abundance and it is this deprivation consciousness that keeps the wheels of exploitive capitalism and cosmetic spirituality running.
I think we are on the verge of a breakthrough, but only if people get the dreamwork and deep immersion experience of their own inner fullness. Remineralized permaculturalized food supply is the most vital place to start, but after that is a 360° comprehensive overhaul of all human endeavor. You cannot build spiritually "full" people on a demineralized foundation, and this is the keystone to transforming our ethics, politics, science, education, spirituality, philosophy and ecology.

The Millennial Project...Colonization of the Galaxy in Eight Easy Steps by Marshall T. Savage is a fantastic futurist book with loads of info for the alchemist.
It has several pages on sea cement accretion chemistry for underwater cybergenic cities. They propose mining magnesium metal out of the sea water on-site to form the electro-grid system for the accumulation of calcium cement.
Heaps of info on algae growing.
Plus an economic model similar to Jacques Fresco and Buckminster Fuller.
If being human is going to be worth the while, we have to get away from the capitalist cost of living where 90% of the average wage is spent on basic life support.
I can imagine a time in which a certain number of hours (10/week) doing "city-chores" per week paid for the basics of life...jobs could be rotated to prevent boredom and develop skill base...then any credits achieved from ones personal"vocational work" could go towards citizen priviledges, travel, specialist education, materials needed for ones vocation etc...

The chemical lobotomy of the communication between the brain hemispheres came about through thousands of years of harm against the life principle, through each and every shock and threat to the well being of our life and the life we are connected to in our environment The consequent rise of the ego and left brain dominance seems to have been generated in the Indo-Europeans of the Saharasia during the drying up of the Sahara, Middle East and Asian deserts at around 4000 BC. This is the theory of Steve Taylor (The Fall) and James DeMeo (Saharasia) and others. The environmental pressures that forced these people onward to conquer the peaceful agrarian Neolithic peoples came at the same time as metallurgy developed. The weapons of war welded in the hands of environmentally displaced tribesmen on horseback brought an end to the egalitarian nature-fusion cultures and in their place the sky father war God era came about, which is still in place today 6000 years later. Brute force overriding the subtler more gentle truths of Life can only breed systemic destruction in the end, through lack of cosmic connection and illumination of the soul's guardian force. This separate-self-sense lies at the heart of the self-hatred and lack of "peace" that propagates the mindset that must go To War at all costs. Heal the Whole person through remineralization, the Inner Marriage and nature-immersion and only then will this violent stage of human evolution come to a close.
Egyptian weapons made from meteoric iron in about 3000 B.C. were highly prized as "Daggers from Heaven"[2]. However, by learning to get copper and tin by heating rocks and combining copper and tin to make an alloy called bronze, the technology of metallurgy began about 3500 B.C. with the Bronze Age. The extraction of iron from its ore into a workable metal is much more difficult. It appears to have been invented by the Hittites in about 1200 B.C., beginning the Iron Age. The secret of extracting and working iron was a key factor in the success of the Philistines.

... Riane Eisler's "The Chalise and the Blade" comes to mind...
... Two summers ago, during a signing tour at 'Powells Books,' here in Oregon, I had the opportunity to ask her what she thought about Ken Wilber in general, and the Integral movement in particular -obviously, in relation to her own unique philosophy which tended to emphasize the more feminine aspects of humanities culture -in contrast to the more common 'masculine' nomenclature...
... Her response was so quiet and subdued, I had to ask her to repeat it again for confirmation;
"... We are like two parallel lines, running side by side, but never seeming to meet..."
"Wow," I thought.
"Fascinating."
... Immediately, I wondered if my Integral friends would be as intrigued with this insightful comment as I was at the time it was uttered... I knew you would be...

"... We are like two parallel lines, running side by side, but never seeming to meet"
hi Lawrence. it occured to me that an author at a book signing will naturally be gracious, polite and diplomatic; people are after all buying their books
. Riane's long answer in a different setting might be equally interesting
. my phrasing would have been "parallel universes"

"... We are like two parallel lines, running side by side, but never seeming to meet." ~ Riane Eisler
The archeological record holds the key to the rise of the patriarchy and the inner division that fueled the emotional suppression necessary to engage in war, conquest and exploitive eco-nomy.
After I have finished The Fall, I will look over Up From Eden and compare the two.
The sickness of the patriarchy is so pervasive that people are not even aware of how sick and limited their thinking is. I was massaging a sociologist the other day, he was the most contradictorian person I ever met, energetically so, he cannot help it.
I was trying to explain that "evil" is simply that which is anti-life, while he wanted to dismiss the idea of evil because of its use in religions. So I gave him the example of "incest" being evil as it was anti-life. He said incest is only a problem because it is not socially condoned, and it was an acceptable practice by the Egyptians royals. The patriarchally damaged brain cannot see things from the submissives (child, women) perspective. The narcissistic needs of the dominant individual are enacted without concern for the harm done to another individual. Thus patriarchy is a form of regression, primitivism and is anti-evolutionary. If the brain hemispheric inter-communication was intact then incest, domestic violence, and war would not exist...and we could become "civilized" as a species.
I would love to hear a conversation between James DeMeo, Steve Taylor, Riane Eisler, and Ken Wilber

The so called 'patriarchal system' is merely a ruse, designed to allow women to control the world without being blamed for the consequences. They marry violent men and encourage violence in their children. They teach their daughters by example to do the same.
“Pay no attention to the women behind the curtain.” I’m not buying it, frankly. Let’s not forget the fate of John the Baptist.
