I am trying to unpack the reincarnation myth in order to raise our operating level out of the religious superstitions...Reincarnation is a religious myth in the same way that the resurrection of the Messiah (Sun) was an astromyth.

A myth that has a grain of truth or a dangerous anachronism that has become toxic? All these powerful myths have a dark, toxic side. At least potentially. Sounds like we're in warrior mode, what might sun tzu do? Perhaps something like,  ''let's recognize the grain of truth in this monster and we'll have an understanding of it's full power.'' So what is the grain of truth? Perhaps something like: The multitudinous incarnations of the Spirit are born anew each day, begotton of the same Process, laden with same inherited yokes, but also unique to the new day.

or

The sun dies every night and is born again in the morning yet it is as old as the total number of days.

or

This incarnation is young, but that which is now incarnated is very old.

or

The Universe is just a sometimes fun, somtimes really annoying game of peak-a-boo with yourSelf.

Perhaps with an implied "Get Used To it!"

So it's a mixed message.

How has this myth run amok? As long as it conveys some meaning of it's core truth then where's the harm? Are you just going by the behaviour of people that cling to this myth? How do you know this thing is causing problems? Seem harmless enough (famous last words)...

Since working in a metaphysical bookstore in a metaphysical town in a metaphysical country...I am deeply disappointed by the level of intellectual discernment. I thought I was moving into the brave new future, only to find myself held prisoner back in the 16th Century. I am attempting to clarify the issue, so I can more freely be myself regardless of how many medieval toes I stand on.
I will (with Michael D's help) put my finished RRR piece up on my website in the hopes that it might help people to more freely be themselves and deprogram from the sleep of the ages. pray

Thinking that we actually “were” the Other in a previous life, is a kind of spiritual codependency; a breakdown in the logic (logos) of the self-building system and a lie against the true differentiation and unlimited creativity of Spirit. For you can never really center and Know Thyself if you keep dreaming up stories of being other people. It reminds me of when I was five years old, on having seen The Sound of Music I told my friends at school that I was related to Julie Andrews. I felt guilty for years about that one. “Affinities” yes, but “being” others no, and yet we all get to participate in each others lives through our joint humanity and the living ground of the universe. And when we get that we are all connected and in joint participation of the One, the miraculous world of psi will start revealing itself to us in all its bottomless mystery. Our psychic powers are increasing and so our need to achieve rational meta-views of history, religion, science, politics and philosophy must keep pace with our psychic development or civilization will become increasingly psychotic and crumble into ineffectiveness and madness.

This is not a scientific article. It is deliberately polemic in order to apply a sure punch to the solar plexus of the centuries of unchallenged religious indoctrination and superstitious hearsay that has confounded the emergence of the gnostic (wisdom) self and prevented the establishment of a noble, spirit-realized civilization.

You remind me of the new atheists in your stated mission to discredit the mythic aspect of religion, or in this case, reincarnation.  I sympathize with your mission, much as I am in sympathy with Dennett and Dawkins, insofar as they want to highlight the obvious abuses done in the name of religion.

I will (with Michael D's help) put my finished RRR piece up on my website in the hopes that it might help people to more freely be themselves and deprogram from the sleep of the ages. pray

Be glad to help.  Let me know when you're ready...

Thanks MD

I suggest you all look at instances when people refer to past lives or reincarnation...100% of the time it is for some ego bolstering, self-protective, defensive, paranoid or just plain silly cause.

I am not saying my ideas are any better...it is just I have had it up to  Purge with peoples blind acceptance of untruth, dogma...99% of what you think you know for certain is not true.

Hey here is the book related to the  Lips Sealed video Secrets Of Life and Ancient Knowledge.

Astrotheology and Shamanism: Unveiling the Law of Duality in Christianity and other Religions  by Jan Irvin and Andrew Rutajit

I am going to send my copy of "Omens of Babylon" to these guys...if you see any copies of Michael Baigent's book buy em for it is out of print and they are over $100. We need to get this book to a few people such as Jan and Andrew, and Michael Tsarion etc...
I am hoping to find the cross over point of resurrection into reincarnation in this book...it also describes aspects of the development of the patriarchy, and I should be able to trace the development of the church from the astrologer priests.

"I am deeply disappointed by the level of intellectual discernment."

You're a genius and they're stupid. Looking for geniuses in a bookstore is like looking for healthy people in the hospital. You wanted to be wise and you've gotten your wish and now you're upset that other people aren't as wise. The wisdom you have is a burden, your burden. You wanted it and got it. Now you want to focus on the one downside. You seem kinda hard to please. You made your bed, now you have to lay in it.

Stupidity and meanness go together because you are always trying to cover your tracks.
I need to see a therapist. Will you be my therapist Dr. Francis and tell me why this wierd woman with psycho eyes would want to rattle on about her relationship to me—why would I attract such a beast, I am wondering how to get rid of her tendency without blatently saying...I don't like hearing about other peoples relationships that is their business.

The vast majority seem stupid, but not everybody is stupid surely. Perhaps the species is fundamentally mad. That is a good subject to talk about. Whether madness is such a bad thing, and whether one should try to fix it or merely enjoy playing within the stream of psychotic social imagery.

'Looking for geniuses in a bookstore is like looking for healthy people in the hospital."
Yes I realize this little quirk now...in that you cannot really find "real" (spirit-ual) people in a spiritual community. That is why I will steer clear of living in places that profess to be spiritual if I possibly can...the stench of self-interest is overwhelming.
I think this paradox is the principle that Saniel Bonder bought up, (perhaps from Da) that movement in any direction creates its opposite. That quote is in his waking down book...I really will have to find that quote again.

"You continue to harp on the issue of socially instilled religious
dogma as if it were the only cause of people's belief in
reincarnation. This is not the case, especially here in the states." Ted

Nope I dogmatically insist that all reasons for believing in the false doctrine of reincarnation are misguided. That truly understanding the nature of precognition and resonance/receptivity of similars, and psi will reveal the true nature of seeming accounts of remembering past lives. Even the Dali Lama has done away with reincarnation, for he has chosen to "elect" the next Dali Lama in order to get around the Chinese political trick of "killing all newborn male babies." Not literally, but the Chinese were trying to prevent a new Dali Lama from arising.
Spirit incarnates according to DNA, it doesn't re-incarnate. I will continue to say this no matter how many lives I have!!!

I tell people like that that they need to lay this crap on their partner instead of me. I use blunt, even impolite language as my first line of psychic defense. Of course, this doesn't work too well when you're in sales and customer service. There are more subtle techniques. Google psychic protection or psychic vampires.

The other thing I like to keep in mind is that stupid people are often capable of some really amazing conclusions that are quite profound. Because they are off beaten path intellectually, they often stumble on some interesting uncharted territory. And, even more importantly, geniuses are hyper-vulnerable to overconfidence, complacency and dumb mistakes. Nobody is good or bad at everything.
