In somewhat related news, Van Jones, the very interesting integral environmental, social justice activist who has been an adviser to the Obama administration resigned from that position today, because he was under attack by critics who couldn't abide his signing of a 911 truth petition a few years ago.

That was me Michael, I am so saddened by the hypocrisy.
Van Jones should literally be running this country. 911 should come out as the greatest false flag in history or the political and mental/spiritual repercussions for the future look bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek indeed.
It shows tho, that we have to e-motionally separate from the larger history of politico-corp events in order to remain healthy and sound and growing ourselves. I wish I had some help in this...I will work on it...as it needs to go into my book.

I am using the 911 denial or 911 acceptance question as my main point of deciding whether some individual is sane enough to spend my time on these days. Having been fooled by one forumite here, and that socalled Ny Times Science Reporter...I mean what kind of scientific thinker would go along with the social programming on the BIGGEST scientific story of all ages up till now. I am sure these deniers must be either mental cripples or  morally corrupt.

Adyashanti often speaks of "in the world, but not of the world" when talking about that kind of detachment.

I suppose we all have our various litmus tests regarding who we will bother with in this world.  I probably have a lot of them that I don't analyze, but one that comes to mind is "the certainty quotient".  I generally won't bother with people who hold their certainties too tightly.

i saw the reports on Van Jones.  i'd say unbelievable.. but actually it's all to believable with the current state of rampant manufactured partisanship going on with the "health care debate" and now the school speech.  i do think it will go even further before things snap back to a more centered, sane viewpoint, if it actually happens.  things have to reach their extremes to get back to normal.

This may seem like a daft question..........but if a holocaust denier thingk the holocaust never happened, whats a 911 denier?
I'm pretty sure its not someone who thinks Sept 11th vanished.............or the 9th of November if you read dates the way we do here.
So is it someone who thinks the twin towers are still standing? That would seem odd.

Maybe this is obvious to the Americans here, but it isn't to me.

I'm betting its to do with conspiracy theorists in some way...........

Also, I was reading through this thread and saw a comment yours, Henry:

This is long after the fact, but I wanted to set the record straight.

I was at that gathering. As Liz pointed out, we "core" forumites were actually more interested in meeting each other than in a chance to see KW. But there's more to the story: KW sent a couple of very cool kids, Corey and Casey, to invite us to his Boulder loft for a party during one of the last days of the gathering. According to Corey and Casey, he'd actually intended to be there himself, but had just broken his arm and was recuping at his home in Denver.

It turned out that he had had a seizure, one of the complications of that illness (REDD) he's been dealing with for years. During the seizure he had fallen and broken his arm.

So, it's really not the case that "he couldn't be bothered."  Take it from someone who was there. 

Glad to see Heartmind is still around! I'm not online as much these days, but do get pulled into a conversation from time to time.

Had it been a group representing $100,000 a month to your Church organization, you would have been there to thank them on a gurney . You were always the designated guardian angel of the IN forum, explaining the inexplicable, mending fences, excusing the inexcusable. And now there is nothing to defend...i've been passionate about integral through mike murphy for decades before wilber V discovered/invented it. Maybe. But I really have no idea, having never had an REDD-related seizure that broke my arm. I do know that people can feel quite disoriented and weak after a grand-mal seizure. I wouldn't fault anyone for not feeling up to schmoozing with others after such a distressing event.

Thank you for the prayers for Keating. Latest I've heard is that he's in the hospital waiting to learn more (he has blood clots in his lungs) from his doc, and he's in good spirits. Gracias too for the beerful birthday greetings.  In all honesty, it will be the tenth anniversary of my 39th birthday.

Oh, and Liz: I think that a "9 / 11 denier" is someone who disagrees with the official version of what happened -- that the U.S. was attacked by Osama bin Laden-led Al Qaeda terrorists. There are some who believe that the plot was hatched by elements within the U.S. gov't, or that the Bush administration had foreknowledge of the plot and intentionally allowed the attack to happen.

Fr. Thomas is said to be in good condition after a procedure that will prevent more clots from forming in his lungs. He could be out of the hospital in a couple of days.
