I just got a message that Gaia was closing shop.

Is it okay to invite people over here? There is not a similar space for discussion anywhere else.  Which makes me think, I better send some money to mD to be more supportive in the next little while.

Are there any thoughts on this?  Michael, could this become overwhelming?

Yeah I heard about that yesterday.  Odd...

I'm feeling a little queasy about handling an inrush of Gaians to be honest.  If you or others would be willing to handle any orientation and moderating if need be, then I'd be less queasy.

Let me mull...   cigar

BTW, I'd love to hear other's thoughts on the matter...

Hey all y'all --

The Gaia Integral Pod has actually been slow & fairly inactive lately . . . although the announcement about the closing of Gaia and moving to other spaces will probably beef up activity. I can totally understand your not wanting an inrush of people, Michael . . .

I think the Integral Pod may simply need to decide if it wants to continue as its own group on Ning or somewhere else, but perhaps a few folks who were formerly active there may want to start hanging out here.

All for now -- gotta run,

Agape,

But one has to have an attractor. One has to have content that is attractive. A one-trick Jeremiah isn't going to get it.

I've never moderated anything.... well, maybe my boyz fights when they were youngsters....they don't remember fighting, just that I would take fits now and again.  Go figure.  Anyway, I would be willing to moderate some part of this....or at least to try it out for a while.  I love the way Henry and you kinda take care of things....and I like that this place is small enough and kind enough that nobody gets left on their own too long in a blood thirsty battle.

What do you all think if Bruce came over with his Integral Metaphysics Pod?  There are some wonderful posters there with him, people that I have grown very fond of.  I will be sorry to see a lot of these people dissipate into the ether......

Developments are in the works.  My friend Stephen Dinan is somehow involved in setting up a Gaia successor site, with data transfer capability he tells me.  I'm closely involved with other Dinan projects these days, so will no doubt play some part in that one, especially since I have friends involved, such as Bruce...

I was also thinking that it would be quite easy for me to set up a new forum or two, much like this one but for the use of the IPS pod or possibly others too.

I'm hesitant to invite a full-on integration of one community into another, not because I don't think it would be interesting or fun, but rather because I think each community has it's own sort of ...integrity I suppose, and might likely need to have it's own space.  Though I can imagine cross-posting between sister communities could be good fun...

i hadn't heard the news about Gaia shutting down.  havn't really kept up since it changed from Zaadz. it was always too big for my poor little eyes to handle.
what is the reason given for shutting down.. money..lack of interest?

how much integration can the Integral movement integrate?  Tongue

should be interesting

Money, or the lack thereof.

I'm surprised that Oprah hasn't anted up to buy it. She could call it O'Gaia.
Maybe she peaked with the Eckhart Tolle webcasts, burned out and just wants a gourmet chef show.

Hey,

I was just thinking that maybe I gave a wrong impression about inviting more folks to Heartmind.  I hope I didn't sound too unwelcoming...  Cry

I'm fine with welcoming newcomers here...really!

I'm just personally not so much into the forum scene as I was in the old days, and am less attentive and careful about the tone of my posts I guess...

So if anyone here wants to invite any soon-to-be displaced Gaians, or anyone else for that matter, please by all means do so with my blessing.

No real news yet coming within my ken about new pod homes and such.  Am in conversation with Bruce about possibilities for his pod though...

i very much admire the integrity and leadership skills of Lisa-Ji and Bruce @ gaia, and others heartminders know better than moi. mD will be helpful as always, and what could be more difficult than the early Heartmind wHack/attack days?... And we know that we got the cirque-de-soleil aikido junkyard dog watching our back Shocked...welcome aloha

Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,

Send these, the Gaialess, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door of Heartmind!
