Anderson Cooper on CNN stated that the spill might go unchecked for months...months. I'm getting sick just thinking about it. Lets hope that's wrong.

Thinking we can magically alter happenstance with our minds is becoming a significant pathology of the new age...and yet it is only a slight tweeking of mind over matter and manifest destiny to a more mature approach which does make rational and spiritual sense. That is to keep hopeful, to look for solutions, to feel remorse for our mistakes and to know that attitude and perspective is everything. If we cultivate global compassionate, we develop action-readiness, rather than defeat and hopelessness.

Thus rather than become hardened, we will have to use such disasters as the Gulf Spill to become more awake, warm and compassionate, and use the energy to work towards actively furthering our greatest gift to the world. As yet we don't have the ideal philosphy intact necessary to deal with global disaster after disaster. I like talking about stuff, but some people don't have the stomach for it...so we have to acknowledge that we come at such catastrophe from different directions and coping levels. Basically I think world-coping boils down to running and meditation...for even going thru it as community is a thing of the past when considering it is disaster at a distance, and one after the other. If we just take it all in, and not beable to do anything about it, we will suffer paralysis and ongoing helplessness. Gamma meditation in the prefrontal lobes/heart will keep us moving forward and ready for appropriate action.

sometimes it makes me wonder whether it is (and how much) evil intent or incompetence is a part of the actions of those who want to control and despoil the world.  Beats me

Yea but the wolves on wall street care nothing for the oceans or the earth.
Check out the leak of one traders email to his girlfriend the day before it happened. I don't understand how that info came out, but the whole world is watching...what kind of trading is done prior to these big events...then all you have to do is follow the money trail, and then see ultimately down the line to see if BP gets sold.

Goldman Sachs, admitted today that it made "a substantial financial bet against the Gulf of Mexico" one day before the sinking of an oil rig in that body of water.

Who would benefit from the collapse of Silverstein's towers in NY. Same bunch of folks involved.

yes, i've seen the reports of G/S shorting the oil in the Gulf the day before. so they made out like bandits again. were you refering to the "Fab" memo where he said "suck it fishies"?
one of the theories of who would benefit would be the people behind the NWO who need the US economy to collapse before taking control. it seems like they're working overtime to do that on all fronts and killing the oceans, critters and people is just more collateral damage, they're probably shorting that too.
i heard the beck/limbaugh crowd were trying to blame it on a N. Korean torpedo in retaliation/preperation of future nuclear talks. now THAT"S a conspiracy.

Yea, it would have been easy to do, just short out the battery in that blowout preventor...even so I am sure BPs timing must have been off.
The conspirators could never have anticipated the fallout from this...plus they are murderers.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/goldman-sachs-reveals-it_b_558774.html

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) - In what is looming as another public relations predicament for Goldman Sachs, the banking giant admitted today that it made "a substantial financial bet against the Gulf of Mexico" one day before the sinking of an oil rig in that body of water.

The new revelations came to light after government investigators turned up new emails from Goldman employee Fabrice "Fabulous Fab" Tourre in which he bragged to a girlfriend that the firm was taking a "big short" position on the Gulf.

"One oil rig goes down and we're going to be rolling in dough," Mr. Tourre wrote in one email. "Suck it, fishies and birdies!"

Magical Thinking—Thinking we can magically alter happenstance with our minds is becoming a significant pathology of the new age...a maladaptive coping strategy. However there is only the need for a slight tweaking of the idea of mind over matter and manifest destiny to a more mature approach which does make rational and spiritual sense. That is to keep hopeful, to look for solutions, to
feel remorse for our mistakes and to know that attitude is everything. If we cultivate all-encompassing compassion we develop action-readiness, rather than defeat and hopelessness. An attitude that creates depression and retreat as the default response means we are beaten before we have even begun. Thus rather than become hardened, we will have to use the convergence of crises to become more awake, warm and compassionate, and use the crisis energy to work towards actively furthering our creative gift to the world. As yet we don't have the ideal philosophy intact necessary to deal with global disaster after disaster. It takes a degree of emotional, intellectual and moral integration which we have yet to see in the social body. You will notice some people don't have the stomach for talking about our real situation...so we have to acknowledge that we come at catastrophe from different directions and coping levels. We each have a different tolerance for reality. Basically I think the ability to embrace reality boils down to exercise and meditation...for even going through it as community is a thing of the past when considering it is mostly ever encroaching disaster at a distance, and one thing after the other.

The only solid thing we can rely on is our practice, presence and connection to Gaia and the cosmos…to open a more mindful, self-aware perspective and greatly enhance our quality of experience. Regardless of the circumstances gamma meditation in the prefrontal lobes/heart will keep us moving forward and ready for appropriate action. But if we just take it all in, and not be able to do anything about it, we will suffer paralysis and ongoing helplessness. My point being that although it is healthier for us to meditate and wish for the best, there is an evil element of the human species that is bent on creating havoc and destruction for their own profit. Thus while our meditation preserves our well-being and is essential to remain whole in a world where we learn of such disaster and strife...we must also act proactively to change the structures and mechanisms which make corruption, ignorance, greed and evil possible. We have to make greed unprofitable through decentralization and creating a free energy and ultimately non-monetary society. For there are better things to do with our lives than ripping off our fellows and trashing Gaia.

The "Fabulous Fab" Tourre and his friends days are numbered. They are going to have blowback from the fishermen and the oil men...they are walking deadmen for sure. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Goldman Sachs was blown up...perhaps oil dumped on their buildings and set alight.

In the Falling Dark - Bruce Cockburn

And the lights lie tumbled out like gems
The moon is nothing but a toothless grin
Floating out on the evening wind
The smell of sweat and lube oil pervades the night
And the rush of life in flight at the speed of light
A million footsteps whispering
A guitar sounds -- some voices sing
Smoke on the breeze -- eyes that sting
Far in the east a yellow cloud bank climbs
Stretching away to be part of tomorrow's time
Earthbound while everything expands
So many grains of sand
Slipping from hand to hand
Catching the light and falling into dark
The world fades out like an overheard remark
In the falling dark
Light pours from a million radiant lives
Off of kids and dogs and the hard-shelled husbands and wives
All that glory shining around and we're all caught taking a dive
And all the beasts of the hills around shout, "such a waste!
Don't you know that from the first to the last we're all one in the gift of grace!"

Jana,

Part of the ethics of publishing in the world media, as you do, is the responsibility to check the reliability of your sources. The "suck birdies" quote was written by Andy Borowitz who is a comedy writer, stand-up comedian, etc. and the Huffpo blog post was a satirical hoax based on Tourre's actual emails bragging how Goldman Sachs shorted housing securities in 2008.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the sky is not falling.

I will leave it for you to check all my sources, thanks. Cool
That still doesn't fix the dead battery or the 20 hour concrete. nope
