Things won't change until every fu-king penny of profit is squeezed out of oil and out of us. They will then find the next best way to squeeze more money out of our hides.

Yes it is the base of the military-industrial machine...which is allowing the $ for the growth of antigravity tech. etc. which will subjugate the people even more...while the good tech implosion people get knocked off by these buddies. In my lifetime, we will see the switch over however...then the power will shift out of their hands and the cartal will be broken...they will have to try more extreme means to maintain control, even so you cannot stop decentralization because it makes sense...and people are begining being sick of being children beer.

Ok, now we are really screwed, in the Ixtoc blow out it took 9 mouths to get to the bottom of the well with two relief wells. Whose to say that relief wells would work in this case...it will be interesting to see if our technology can improve faster than that used in 1979.

1 mile below the oceans surface is a tough place to gain control. Perhaps mankind’s collective consciousness is also facing a similar challenge. Deep into the almost unreachable depths of a collective subconscious there may also lay a rupture that spills off the vital energy needed for reaching new levels of achievement and development into a very needy world, polluting it with toxins of a different sort.

Yea, it is called power abuse...

Power abuse...this is the fundamental Achilles' Heel of the human species at its present stage of development. It is this that is behind "all" our problems. It is just as much a problem of the lack of Good-will, as it is the over abundance of Bad-will. An Achilles' heel is a deadly weakness in spite of overall strength, that can actually or potentially lead to downfall. It is time for us to grow up, and for those capable of Good-will to let it shine to the greatest extent of spirit.

Good Luck/Bad Luck—Individually and as a species, we have a vision quest, by which we grow and are subsequently presented with the obstacles to growth. Following the threads of our soul’s journey is what keeps us awake, for if we fall asleep the man-eating, tyrannical giant presents itself when we haven’t gathered the resources to deal with it. The obstacles, opposition and triggers which threaten to hold us back, are the actual ladder by which we climb higher and remain awake. According to our soul’s calling, we each have a part to play in the evolution of the human species and life on earth.
The tyrannical giant is an illusion…it is simply the flip side of our lack of agency and lack of will in actually going after our own destiny and life purpose. To the extent that we are determined to remain as children lost in the forest, this is the extent that dominance/submission, negative status power and the reptilian-shadowside of our human spectrum of being will hold sway. For this reason “fighting” the dragon, the system, the enemy, or the whatever we have put in opposition to ourselves is futile. Rather we should look for ways in which "all" can be brought to greater consciousness, love, abundance and maturity. In this sense all of manifestation is our friend. Once we understand the nature of the sovereign quest and the underbelly of power-abuse we no longer need use immature, maladaptive or self-destructive responses to avoid the challenge of waking up, and so we no longer regress, nor are we overcome by malignant power. It is then that the giant becomes our friend and not our foe.  cigar

Hmm, seems to me the logic of the dispersing agents is radically faulty...leading to more widespread damage.

Of course a top kill would not be successful...its ridiculous to think that it would...not at those pressures, they knew that, but had to do "something" to keep public quiet. It will take longer than August to get the relief wells drilled, and whose to say the concrete at the base will work...chances are the pressure is too great to allow the solidification of concrete at that depth. They need to be working on a far more advanced technique. If it is methane gas, they need to pump in a polymer of some kind that is set solid by methane and not dissolved by crude oil.

BP said at the beginning that the relief wells would take 3 months. The biggest obstacle to setting the concrete is celerity not pressure. Concrete needs to be quiescent to set-up (i.e. harden). I doubt pressure would affect the final strength of the concrete or affect set-up very much but I could be wrong about that. I'm not sure if it's ever been done before, but in theory pressure should not affect the chemical reaction as far as I can tell. I think you're right that they 'had to do something' in the interim even though  they knew it was futile. So they throw out some junk and toxic dispersants as a way of 'doing something'.

The policy on dispersants has been really misguided, in my view. I think that a comprehensive containment plan should be drawn up and executed. Every boat available could be hauling oil-laden water to be effectively treated by proven oil/water separation techniques on shore or, better yet, off shore. This ain't rocket science, these things are simple devices, treating down to 5 ppm oil residual. From there, dispersants do the rest. That said, it's a decades-long proposition, forget quick fixes. The genie is out of the bottle.

My point is that we should be focused on containment as the primary strategy and dispersion mostly just as a final 'polish' step. There's a turd in the punch-bowl, we need to retrieve it, not just stir it around.
