February 2007 issue, VOL 5.

http://holons-news.com/

Main article is on blogs and web 2.0. Then, they have "Staff Picks" of intergrally informed blogs. I don't know all the people there. I did see Ashley's blog listed (and she has had a cameo appearance at this site), and Cool Mel's. Everyone may know some folks there that I don't.

Where is Integral Visioning? The only thing I can figure is this is not considered a blog, but a website/forum/P2P network. Or that advertisements are part of this site and a link for contributions is here, which would make this space more than a blog. Regardless, there should have been an honorable mention perhaps. I know a blog is a personal webpage, and the Time Magazine Person Of The Year is YOU. I hope Michael will get recognition at some point at Holons for what he's done here.

have  to agree with you there daniel.  seems like they're running a little behind the times on the process of getting the holon news out.  of course maybe IV isn't big enuf or commercial enuf for them to bother with.... and the post-wilberian comment might have tweaked an integral nose or two   Grin

I just perused the new Holons issue and found it mildly interesting, and equally annoying...as per usual.  Honestly, it never even occurred to me that they neglected to mention IV.  I was glad and interested that they linked to a bunch of friend's blogs though...about time...in fact way past time actually.  And a real surprise that they linked to Frank Vissor's highly critical Wilber WatchShocked

My first guess about the IV omission is that I've been prominently featuring two of KW's relatively harsher, yet quiet critic/ex-friend/ex-students: Michel Bauwens and Stephen Dinan.  Also, IV isn't very "cool" or connected.  More like a lazy hobby-horse.  blush

It's not paranoia if they are really out to get you?

Michaels is a politically charged website. Bucking the status quo that bucks the status quo! And it still doesn't make full sense, Michael said Holons included Frank Vissor's site. Hummh.

Hey folks,
I looked over the blog list too and it is not all just blogs, but full-on web sites and whatnot. The staff also missed  Integral Review an oh-so-academic online journal that boasts Ervin Laszlo as their go-to philosopher. In their first offering they editorialized about establishing a collegial relationship with Integral Institute, but that evidently has yet to pan out and in one of their major articles in the current issue the author, Bonnita Roy, a landscape designer by trade, took a few oh-so-academically polite and rather deadly pot shots at Mister Wilber?s scholarship.

The trick in Holons newsletter of ranking blogs by ?altitude? left a rather sour taste behind it but the From You to Infinity in 3 pages was a hoot. I?m surprised it wasn?t linked to a message board on the Nickelodeon Channel?s web site. Huh?

Steven,

Thanks for the great link and resources. Wilbers sloppy scholarship is one of his Achilles heels. But how much of the bath water do we throw out and still keep the baby? Are 10%, 20%, 30% of his references and his reasoning bogus? It's a case of spoiled goods. If Wilber has inaccurate information on evolution for example, how much of the rest of his work can we trust?

Same applies to many professions and politicians. Once a politician lies, can you trust anything they say? Once a surgeon makes one false slip of the knife, can you trust that surgeon anymore? Once you have an auto accident, the insurance companies now label you a bad risk.

We live in a perfectionist society that does not allow any mistakes. You are not allowed to be human in one sense. Once you screw up, you are spoiled goods, raised eyebrows look at you with mistrust and suspect. The demands of perfectionism are high and probably why Americans are so stressed. Perfectionism probably also generates more psychological illnesses, and Americans top that list too.

As far as Wilber goes, I question his self proclaimed Punditry (anyone who proclaims themselves anything makes me wonder). And Andrew Cohen a guru? Give me a break. It's hot air for economic and social gain. The old public image thing. Mr Wilber, please step off your pedestal.

I didn't even know who Ervin Laszlo was. Thanks for the lead on this. Shows you what a sheltered life I lead.

Laszlo's Hierarchy of needs? You must have come across that before.
What i didn't lknow until the last couple of years was about his other work, but the basic hierarchy is taught in care courses of all sorts and different personal development programmes too.

Laszlo? Are you sure it's him Liz, or do you mean Maslow?
